Another Corner punch creation

I wanted to start by letting you know that I just got about 30 pillar and other candles from Freecycle (it's a yahoo group), if you don't know what freecycle is then you are in for a treat...it is the mecca of getting and giving FEE stuff in your local area. All you have to go is go on over to www.google.com (after you have oogled my pretty candle that is!) and type in freecycle + your town or county (I belong to 3 freecycles because I live so close to all of them!) Then you make an account and you are good to go! YOu will start to recieve e-mails from people wanting to get rid of things and you can reply back to them and if you g it all you have to do is pick it up! Goes tha same for getting rid of things...you just post it and whoever replies first (or however you choose to handle the replies) comes and picks up the items from you! No hastle! I love love love it! Anyways because I got sooo many RED candles I will probably be making MANY creations with them...perfect for Valentine's Day!!!
I had so much fun with the tutorial from yesterday that I had to show you what the wrought iron punch looks like in a straight line...there is no stamping in this project, but I think it looks really cute! I will probably add a tag to it when I give it away! I hoep you enjoy one of many red candle projects to come!!!
Supplies:
Paper: real red, sage shadow, appricot appeal
Accessories: wrough iron punch, 5/8 Ivory grossgrain ribbon

Tuesday's Teacher

It's Tuesday again... I can NOT believe how quickly the time goes by!!! Here is today's Bible verse:

There is no fear in love...1 John 4:18
Well, with Valentine's day fast approaching, I decided to choose this verse from the bible that speaks volumes in itself! This vere speaks to me in more ways than one. First, it reminds me of how I met my hubby and how I had sworn off men for them time being.. I said and I quote, " I am NOT going to be dating right now!!! I will be concentrating on school and work and that's it!!!" and lowe and behold I met my hubby a week later!" I had gotten out of a relationship that was troubled not long before that and I was affraid that it would happen again, therefore I swore off love! But to me love is not just about loving another person, although it does make the world a much better place! Love is also about loving your Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ! In todays society it is hard for people to seek, or understanding God's love. We are soo oppressed today by culter, society and sometimes even family to seek the love of God, to truly let yourself be open to His Glory and His goodness!
I know that for me I often fear telling other's about His love and the goodness and the freedom we feel through knowing God's love! But I love my neighbor, I love my friends and those I come in contact with, and most of all I love God and I am striving to live my life withou FEAR of what people might think or say of me if they know how I feel about Christ, the one that knew me before I was born, the creator of LOVE. So go and LOVE without fear today!
As you know I try to do a tutorial or product review each week when I do my Tuesday's teacher, last week I did a review, so this week I will be doing a tutorial. It is something that many people already know how to do, but it's always good to get a refresher course! So today's tutorial is:

Making scallops with the corner rounder and more!
To start the scallops remove the plastic corner guard...yes they come off! Just pull gently to the side and it will pop right off (don't worry you can put it right back in when you're done!!)
I like to flip my punch over so that I can see what I'm doing for this next part!
Start with your paper to the very edge of the punch (be sure to not go all the way over to the edge...look at arrow closely!) then punch!
For this next part you will need to move the paper to the right and line it up with the same edge!
The trick to this is making sure that there is always a little spot of overlap once it has been punched! I call it the black spot! If you look in the picute inside the little *square* there is no red in that spot, this will allow the punch to overlap and created a perfect scallop! To complet the row, you just keep on punching and moving the paper over.
Does this make sense?

Here are the finished scallops! What do you think? Easy peasy right? I also made a row of scallops with the slit punch so you couls see the size difference! You can make a decorative edge with any corner punch... I will show you another one tomorrow!

Here is the finished card!!! Isn't it pretty! Those scallops just add such a sweet danty touch! I love love love scallops!!!!
And the nice thing is that youc an make scallops or a decorative edge with ANY corner punch you already have! So go put those supplies to good use! Show me what you can make with your corner punches and upload them to SCS then leave me a comment with the link... I would love to see them! Be sure to use MSTT03.

I have always loved a good challenge and everyday on http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ they have a challenge! And todays challenge was to make a heart shapped card with the template provided...I kinda made a card! I actually added a kickstand to it so that it can stand on it's own...and filled it with candy! This is actually a re-run challenge (they did it 2 years ago...you'll have to see the sample I made them..HAHAHA) Here is the link to the template. And here is the back view so you can see the kick stand. I know the hershey kisses don't match, but thats all I had and I needed to show you a visual! I might make 2 more for David's pre-school teachers...but Maybe I'll add a picture of him to the inside of the heart...hmmmm

Moments to Cherish!

Okay so I am totally one of those people that totally says, "I am NEVER going to forget that!" and then low and behold I have totally forgotten what it was I wasn't going to forget, and I'm talking about those special moments. YOu know the cute little things the kids do or say...so I have decided to remidy that! My niece Meghan spent the night and we decided to get busy and alter some books that I got at Target this week. I got extremely lucky! I bought both of these adorable books for only $2.59 and that included the pen! Not to mention the fact that they are pink...my ULTIMATE favorite color! Anywho, when I saw them I totally knew that they would match Stampin' Up's Purely pomegranate cardstock and I NEEDED to get them right away! So I got one for me and one for Meghan...and being the totally awesome girl that she is... we picked the same paper to decorate our books with! I know I know she is the best! (I love this little gal!

Supplies:
No Stamps
Rub-ons: Eastern Elegance
Paper: Bali Breeze, Shimmery White CS
Accessories: purely pomegranate satin ribbon, chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon, scallop punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, 1 1/4 circle punch, sheer polka dot ribbon (thanks Sara!!)

We met when she was almost 2 and she is going to be 11 this year...where has all the time gone? I love spending time with her, she is very creative and a sweetheart...plus she loves the Lord, what more could you want from a girl (well, I guess the fact that she thinks I'm cool and likes to craft with me makes it even sweeter!) Anyways I hope you like the altered book! And here is a picture of Meghan and I...just so you can put a face to the names! Thanks for looking!

And here are some of the other things Meghan made while she was here...pretty talented wouldn't you say! She designed and created them all by herself!!!

Rockstar!

I have had this card spinning around in my brain since I got this set over a month ago! I made a trade with Julee over at Verve Visual, she wanted some rectangle tins that I had and I wanted some stamps that she has! So it worked out perfectly!

This set is called Starlight Starbright. it is super cute and I just lvoe all the sentiments! To make this card I used a piece of double sided sticky paper (red like the take rolls, but in sheets) and I free handed a star shape... I then adhered it to basic black card stock and went outside to our drive way...it's gravel... I took off the sticky part and dropped it face down in the gravel and this is what came out...lots of little rocks! I think it's cute and the sentiment is perfect with it! Now you just should of seen the looks I got from hubby and son...they are too funny! I'm not the most pleased withg the blue cs, should of beed a thinner section visible, but I guess it will do! I hope you like it as much as I liked making it!

Supplies:

Stamps: Starlight Starbright-verve visual

ink: Stazon black

paper: true Thyme card stock, basic black cs, bordering blue cs, retired DS paper

accessories: gravel, sticky paper, crop-a-dial, black eyelets, ribbon

as always,

Happy Stampin

P.S. be on the look out for some blog candy!!!
