Good bye my friends...

No no no I'm not leaving my beloved blogging world...I'm just saying goodbye to some of my favorite stamp sets! Can you believe many of these sets won't be around in less than a month! I know I know I'm shocked too! Here are some samples to inspire you. let me know if you would like to order any or all or these sets, i can have them shipped directly to you (if you live in the good ol' U S of A that is)!

Touch of Nature
This is such a pretty card in real life! I super love how this turned out! Now as far as stamping this is really the basics of this crazy hobby/passion of mine!

I started by stamping the fern image with soft sky on soft sky for the card base. I then mounted a piece of the soft sky on top after I scallop punched it of course! Then I stamped the flower image in soft sky and the butterfly and sentiment in bayou blue, mounted the whole thing in bayou blue and added the ribbon and the card is done...simple, quick and cute! Now remember all these colors and stamps are retiring ....you won't be able to order them after the 10th of August!!!

What do you need?
Stamps: Touch of Nature
Ink: bayou blue, soft sky
paper: soft sky, bayou blue, river rock
accessories: scallop border punch, 1/16 circle punch, ribbon

Eat Cake

Here is another super simple card... I was looking for a lot of "white space" and I think I found it! To start I got a pice of wild wasabi out and stamped the confetti background using wasabi ink...set that aside and cut my black square. I then stamped the cake and base on shimmery white cardstock and then added the candles and glitter. I next added it to the black, used my rectagle punch and threaded and tied the wasabi stiped ribbon (also only available until August 10th) added the "eat cake" and on the inside Happy Birthday...super cute and super easy! The oval was cut using rhe coluzzle cutting system.

What do you need?
Stamps: Eat cake
ink: wild wasabi, pretty in pink, pink passion
paper: wild wasabi, basic black, shimmery white
accessories: dazzling diamonds glitter, rectangle hand held punch, stipped wild wasabi ribbon, coluzzle cutting system

Thanks for stoppin by! I hope you like these cards! Now go and make some for yourself!

So today sketch challenge 185 ROCKED! And it fit perfectly with my desire to show you my little friend...the sock monkey!
I have been itching to make a card witht his little guy and I finally got the chance! I did a whole lot of paper piecing, but I think he turned out super cute!
Since i don't have the square nestabilities and I do have the new SU! scallop border punch, I thouh I would try mitering th corners to see what would happen...and I LOVE it!!! I love how I can now make squares and rectables of any size with scallops...hmmm I could probably make triangles if I really wanted to...LOL
The Kraft square that I have the monkey on is 3x3 and the sizes go up from there...lol it's a pretty self explanitory card!
The details:
Stamps: Sock Monkey

Tuesday's Teacher & Sneak Peek #5

Here is today's bible verse...one I am really partial to, I really feel the love of God through this verse. He created the heavens and the earth in 7 days and thought it was good and he loves us even more...how awesome is that?

"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is life not more than food and the body more than clothing?" Matthew 6:25

So today was an awesome day (hubby was home and most of those days are pretty awesome...the kids always seem to behave a little better when he's home...ODD!) Anyways we had a blast and in the evening we went and picked blackberries on the way up to the mail box and I started to think about how awesome God is....first he gave me this perfect day, that and actually had me ME of all people comfort someone that wasn't having as good of a day, then he also has provided tons and tons of blackberries for our family. I mean tons, this year I have picked over 35 cups of blackberries and there are still more waiting to ripen...how awesome is that! With gas prices so high and generally all prices are going up, how cool is it that God has provided this yummy treat for us for FREE, well I guess we do have to deal with the thorns and ticks, but hey I'm game, I don't mind picking a few ticks off of me and getting prickled a few (okay maybe more than a few) times to get some berries!

The other cool thing is that Bella now say Blackberries, maybe not as clear as that, but i know what she's saying! Really if you look closely in your everyday life you will find blessings from the Lord wherever you are...some people like to call it coincidence, but i don't believe in that, I know EVERYTHING good happens for a reason and our creator is at the center of it all.

So look closely in your life and see what blessings God is giving you. Did someone open a door for you when your arms were full? Did a neighbor offer to have a play date when you are frazzled? Did someone smile and wave at you just when you thought no one cared? Look closely, God is everywhere!

One Sheet Box

Supplies:

Scor-pal or scoring tool

one sheet of 8.5 x10.5 card stock

strong adhesive

pretty paper and embellishments

stamp set of your choice

First: You will want to start your scoring on the 10.5 inch side and score at 1.5 , 4.5, 6 and 9 inches
Second: you will want to rotate your paper 90degrees so that it's on the 8.5 inch side. You will now want to score the card stock at 2 and 6.5 inches
Third: On the long side, you will want to cut the card stock on both sides to the 2 inch score line and from the other side to the 6.5 inch score mark...your paper should look like this when done!
Fourth: you will now want to fold the smaller flaps in (the 1st, 3rd and 5Th flap) and cut off half an inch on the 2 remaining (wider) middle flaps. Do this to both sides
Fifth: For this step you will just want to score at all the score marks and then add adhesive. Here is the order that I added adhesive. I first started with the 2 flaps closest to me, I folded them in and added adhesive on top. Next I kept the wider flaps open and added adhesive to he open side up. and last I closed the 3rd flaps and added adhesive just like the firsts (clear as mud right?)
Sixth: once you adhere the flaps this is what your box will look like!
Seventh: you will want to add adhesive only to the small top flaps...I used lots and you will want to use lots too...these little guys need to be strong since you want to open and close the box (do this to both top flaps and fold them to the inside of the box.) Your box is now finished! How cute is that! Now for embellishing...you can go as crazy or as simple as you want...I guess it depends on who you're giving it to!
Okay this is where the sneak peek and saying good bye comes in! I have used the NEW Bella Rose designer paper (isn't it just gorgeous!) and I have also used the Wild rose stamp set...this unfortunately is retiring and I just coordinates with the papers so well! I'm very bummed that it's going away!
I also used the new cool buttons that will be available August 11Th and the sentiment is from the Sock Monkey set (shame on me for not sharing more with that set!)
For the top of this box I used the Pink Pirouette 2008-09 In colors, shimmery white card stock (love the stuff) and some Hodge podge...which we will also be saying goodbye to soon! Some ribbon and some decorative scissors, inked the edges and stamped, cut out some flowers and called it a day! (I was sure hoping for some oval Nestabilities when I was cutting that oval out though!)
Thought you might want to see a close up of this pretty rose! Doesn't the Hodge Podge just look great? Hurry orders yours today! (mabieme1999@yahoo.com)

And here is look at the front of the box. I used the NEW SU! border punch to make the cool lip of the box and to add a little more detail I added little white dots with my Signo Gel Pen. The button is also new and I took some white grosgrain ribbon tied it in a knot and threaded it through the button holes to create a pull. I then punched a 1/4 inch hole through the box, threaded the ribbon and adhered it to the inside with strong adhesive.
And this is another look at the box...what do you think? Leave me a comment and let me know if you make one of these little guys, I would LOVE to check yours out!
Supplies:
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, pink pirouette, shimmery white, Bella rose designer paper
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Ridding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Black Staz On
Stamps: Wild Rose, Sock Monkey
Embelishments: ribbon, Hodge Podge Hardware, buttons, scallop boarder punch, white gel pen

When you Wish upon a...

STAR...makes no difference who you ARE!!! Gosh I just lvoe that song...Disney is da MAN!!! I have a star to show you too, but it's a little bit of a different star...it's a star book! I made it for my husbands cousin Jennifer whowill be having a baby at the end of August. Wait till you see the AWESOME cupcakes she had there!!! The theme was sweet pea andlet me tell you those cupcakes were super sweet!!!

So you wanna see the star book? OKay okay here it is! Sorry these pictures aren't the greatest, but I was holding Bella and taking the pictures at the same time...realized before I left her house that I hadn't taken a picture of it! DUHHH

This is the front of the book, I love how it turned out! I used the simon lower chipboard letters from Stampin' Up! and covered them with Certainly Celery petal prints paper using modge podge and to make my edges so perfect I used Basic Greys precision tool kit...love that thing!
Here is a picture of the book open...you tie the front and back cover together and it looks like a star...hence the name...star book!!! And this is the book open so you can see what the pages look like. I used the stamp set Bundle of Joy (I don't think I can ever part with that one!) for the name, weight info and I used theSAB stamp set So Many scallops for all the inside pages.
And you know I had to have a matching card! Here it is...isn't it sparkly? I used the same papers and colors...gotta be matchy matchy!
And when that wasn't enough, I got out my beloved Bind-it-all and made a little advise book for her...isn't it cute? I just love making little gifts like these...of course I also bought her some clothes for the baby, but these are my most favorite things to give!
