Same Same Friday!

Hello there ladies and gents! I know it's Friday and I'm way late with posting this, but it was a gorgeous day outside and we just had a blast playing...hmmmm I'm fearing the spring and summer...what will my blogging become? I'm sure I will have lots of time, so don't fear!

Here is my same same challenge. I actually got the sketch from an awesome blog called MY PAPER WORLD where she hosts a sketch challenge every two weeks! It's a fun challenge and it could go either way...regular card or tent topper style... I choose the tent topper like on her blog , just cuz I like the look!

So here are my cards!

The first one I really really like... The base of the card is made from shimmery white cardstock (love this stuff!!) and then the scalloped rectangle from my beloved Nestabilities! For this card I also colored the sky with the soft sky ink and aqua painter, the colors for the next card were just too dark and would not look right! This card is also for the color challenge (STCC17) found here and I just love the colors that Sara picked...I choose to use them very lightly, but I think it does the trick!

For my next card...

I used some of the same colors but added tempting turquoise and brilliant blue, ad made the base of the card certainly celery...not sure that I like it or not! What I do like though is the contrast of the coloring with the same ink...just adding more color to the same spot, concentrated. and I like the lined paper, makes it look a little more linear next to the scallops which, to me, is a nice design element! I would of loved to color the sky, but again I think it would look too dark!So here are the deets!

Tuesday's Teacher

It's Tuesday again... I can NOT believe how quickly the time goes by!!! Here is today's Bible verse:

There is no fear in love...1 John 4:18

Well, with Valentine's day fast approaching, I decided to choose this verse from the bible that speaks volumes in itself! This vere speaks to me in more ways than one. First, it reminds me of how I met my hubby and how I had sworn off men for them time being.. I said and I quote, " I am NOT going to be dating right now!!! I will be concentrating on school and work and that's it!!!" and lowe and behold I met my hubby a week later!" I had gotten out of a relationship that was troubled not long before that and I was affraid that it would happen again, therefore I swore off love! But to me love is not just about loving another person, although it does make the world a much better place! Love is also about loving your Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ! In todays society it is hard for people to seek, or understanding God's love. We are soo oppressed today by culter, society and sometimes even family to seek the love of God, to truly let yourself be open to His Glory and His goodness!

I know that for me I often fear telling other's about His love and the goodness and the freedom we feel through knowing God's love! But I love my neighbor, I love my friends and those I come in contact with, and most of all I love God and I am striving to live my life withou FEAR of what people might think or say of me if they know how I feel about Christ, the one that knew me before I was born, the creator of LOVE. So go and LOVE without fear today!

As you know I try to do a tutorial or product review each week when I do my Tuesday's teacher, last week I did a review, so this week I will be doing a tutorial. It is something that many people already know how to do, but it's always good to get a refresher course! So today's tutorial is:

Making scallops with the corner rounder and more!

To start the scallops remove the plastic corner guard...yes they come off! Just pull gently to the side and it will pop right off (don't worry you can put it right back in when you're done!!)

I like to flip my punch over so that I can see what I'm doing for this next part!

Start with your paper to the very edge of the punch (be sure to not go all the way over to the edge...look at arrow closely!) then punch!

For this next part you will need to move the paper to the right and line it up with the same edge!

The trick to this is making sure that there is always a little spot of overlap once it has been punched! I call it the black spot! If you look in the picute inside the little *square* there is no red in that spot, this will allow the punch to overlap and created a perfect scallop! To complet the row, you just keep on punching and moving the paper over.

Does this make sense?

Here are the finished scallops! What do you think? Easy peasy right? I also made a row of scallops with the slit punch so you couls see the size difference! You can make a decorative edge with any corner punch... I will show you another one tomorrow!

Here is the finished card!!! Isn't it pretty! Those scallops just add such a sweet danty touch! I love love love scallops!!!!

And the nice thing is that youc an make scallops or a decorative edge with ANY corner punch you already have! So go put those supplies to good use! As promised...

I just love how this little cutie turned out you can find the template here. I just love this pattern, although when cutting the flaps, cut a little extra off so that you ca fold in the sides nice and crips.
