Tuesday's Teacher

Howdy Howdy! It's time for another Tuesday's Teacher, but today instead of a tutorial I will be doing a product review! Here is todays Bible verse!

Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2Cor9:15

This verse is so cool because you can think of all of God's gifts that he has bestowed upon you. One of my most favorite things in the world is the Ocean and I seriously did not think we would be able to go on a vacation this year and it's been almost 2 years since I've heard the roar of the ocean...I am so greatful for the miricles God gives us...great and small!

Another thing that I know is an indescribable gift is my awesome husband! I know that I can be a pain to deal with sometimes, and he still loves me and does the sweetest things for me. My awesome kids, the home we live in. Me being able to stay home with the kids and not work...these are all miracles from Jesus my saviour!

What gifts are you thankful for today? Are you feeling better than you were yesterday? Did you get a promotion at work? Is the sun shinning where you live? Do you have food and clothes to keep you fed and warm? There is a whole world of thins to be thankful for...pick one and thank the Creator!

Now for the Product review:

Okay I will be reviewing Verve Stamps. The reaon I choose to do a review today instead of a tutorial is because today is Verve's new stamp release...and what is so cool about that? Well the cool thing is that this is their ONE YEAR ANNI-VERVE-SARY! You guessed it, they got started just one year ago today!

Julee Tilman is the owner and brains behind Verve Stamps. You can check out Poetic Artistry her blog here. Anywas I happed to be fortunate enough to meet Julee on SCS where we were stalking buddies...we stalked the challenges waiting for themt o be posted so we could rush off and stamp!

Anyways she is a sweet heart and has a head for buisness, as well as being a strong christian. and not to mention super creative!

Verve stamps are clear photopolymer stamps and I was extremely hesitant about trying them because I had never used clear stamps before...Julee and I did a little trade and I got some clear stamps....I really like them folks! I specially like the sentiments...super easy to line up and get them perfectly straight!

Julle is super quick at shipping them and they are packaged sooo nicely and all wrapped up in tissue paper!

Really go and check out there site, the stamps are fab, prices are great and there are a bunch of new ones today!

Sketch Challenge #5

This card is super tall! It's 8.5 inches tall and measure 2.75 inches wide. I love how it turned out, but I think I'm going to have to make a special envelope for it! Good thing I have a scor-pal! The cardstock for this card is ridding hood red and kiwi kiss and the designer paper is called bella rose. The stamps are from Verve stamp and the set is called Serenity.

Sketch Challenge #6

This card I don't know that I'm too pleased with! I guess it's okay but doesn't really knowck my socks off! The sentiment is also from a verve set!

Tuesday's Teacher

For todays Tuesday's Teacher I am going to be doing a product review instead of a tutorial... I hope you enjoy it just as much as the tutorials! But first for todays Bible verse...

There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, but what are they among so many? John 6.9

WOW, 5 barley loaves...that is nothing amongst 5thousand! But God is great and can provide through whatever circumstance we are currently going through! Ability is one of those greatly overrated commodoties, it is very important for us to have a skill, it is even more important for us to be open to what God wants us to be doing with that skill! The ordinary is made extraordinary when placed in the hands of the master...just like the loaves, an etraordinary feat in the hands of the master. What skills do you have that you are not giving to the Lord? Are you affraid to hand it all to God and let him do his will with the gifts he gave you? If you are open and have the Lord be your master, your guide, he will help you perfect your skill and use it for his Glory! Give him your fish and loaves and watch them multiply!

Nestabilitiesare in Da house!!!

Okay I got these nestabilities last Monday...so it's been about a week and I had just broken my cuttlebug (B)plates and needed to have then replaced...lucky me we went into town and I was able tp purchase some at Micheals using a 40% coupon...made them about $4...not too bad! So I have been using my nestabilities non stop since I got them! What are they you might ask? They are die cuts to use with any die cut machine...they are actually made by Spellbinders to use with their wish, but they are compatible with many different die cutting machine. I personally use my cuttlebug with them and it has been working perfectly!

What I don't like is that I need to purchase a new little mat so that I am able to emboss and unfortunately I did not see the mat at the place I bought the dies, So I will have to seach for the mat...What do I need this extra mat you ask? well the Nestabilities not only cut, but they also emboss!!!! thats right they are able to emboss inside one another! I have not been able to do this yet, but i can not wait to try it!

Where do you get these little beauties and how much are they? Well, you can actually get them at many different places, but the cheapest place I have found them at http://www.ucutathome.com/ and they have the BEST prices!!! If you sign up to be a VIP customer with them, they will automatically send you a coupon one a month for 40% off to be used on morst anything in their on-line store!

Do they have speedy service? Well I ordered mine on the 12th of January and didn't get them until just last week, so they are a bit slow, but for the price I payed I am willing to wait!

The Nestablities in most places cost $80 for the combo pack...I got the rectangle scalloped package...which is a total of 20 dies that nest within each other, for a grand price of $51 yup $51 (plus shipping or course) thats 20 dies people! I know that on of the HUGE marvy punches it cost right around $24, so for just a little more you have so much more capability!

So will your die cutting machine work with the nestabilites and if so do you need any anything else to make them emboss? Well Nichole Heady over at http://www.papertreyink.com/ has come up with an awesome tutorial...so rather than re-invent the wheel here is the Tutorial for the Nestabilities Compatability

Not only does it use the Nestabilities, but it also meets todays color challenge on Splitcoaststampers CC154, but it also uses the Mojo Monday sketch of Julee Tilman ownder of Verve Visual over at Poetic Artistry

I absolutely LOVED this sketch! YOu actually had to make a square card and follow the sketch... I for one love square cards and have a bunch of 6.5x6.5 envelopes, so this was an easy challenge for me! Plus I had just used this paper for yesterdays cootie catchers and had some left over and knew they would fit perfectly... at fisrt I didn't think I would like the blue, but it's a bery nice accent color! I stamped the bird in Real Red craft ink and covered it with clear embossing powder, once I heat set it, I used a sponge and sponged the appricot appeal int he flowered section... I just love this little bird. the rest came together pretty easy! scallops, layers, ribbon...let me know if you have any questrions!
