Banners Away!

So my sister-in-law is hosting an engagement party tonight and earlier this week she asked me if I could make her a banner and another sign for her wall...I said sure no problem! So what did I make?
Isn't this banner awesome! I went to my friend Nikki's and she was gracious enough to let me use her Cricut...Love it...hmmm I might need an expressions after all! Who knew! LOL

I used orchid Opulance cardstock and cut the letters in 5.5 inches tall...I think? Could of been 5 inches. Anyways, Once all the letter were cut I came home and used my cuttlebug folders through my big shot...fisrt I inked the top portion of the folder also with Orchid Opluance and then ran it through. After that is was Glitter time! While all the glitter was drying I cut out 15 top note dies on shimmery white cardstock and then sponged the edges with Orchid Opulance craft ink...my fav way to sponge!

After sponging I set my crop-a-dial to desired hight and punched holes for the silver eyelets on all the top notes and then set the eyelets.

Put it all together and you have an awesome banner right? Well I thought it still looked a little plain...so I found some pretty flowers added a button to the centers and of course more GLITTER! Can a girl ever have too much sparkle?

Now for the little stamped girl...you're probably thinking...hey that's not weddingish or engagementish...well I though gosh this would be a shame to trash it after one use...so pretty and so muh work...that I thought Hey I could probably use it for other occasions...so I started thinking and decided it would be good for a birthday or a bridal shower ad even a baby shower...so I will just switch out images and call it a day! This particular image is from an MFT set called "you take the cake" and I water colored again with the craft ink and aqua painter...added more glitter and cut her out!

Now, since I had all my supplie already out I went ahead and made a birthday card...never know when I might need to use it! LOL

Supplies:
Ink: Orchid opulance, yo yo yellow
Paper: orchid opulance, shimmery white, basic black (for card only)
Accessories: Crop-a-dial, silver eyelets, orchid opulance ribbon, mono multi, dazzling diamonds glitter (for card only blck eyelets)
The card is also for a couple challenges...Angelosities blog challenge using her sketch 25 ando also the MFT November guest designer contest...watercoloring!

Mad Flannel card

So todays Technique Challenge WT188 on SCS was mad for plaid to make a card using plaid...I had to think for a bit and then I remembered that I had the flannel plaid background stamp...more mute than what I think of when I think of plaid, but I think it worked out well for this card! I love the simplicity of the colors and how quick it came togeher...I don't usually get to stamp in the day, but the baby was sleeping and the big kids were watching a movie and this card only took like 10 minutes max! I love how they come so fast some times!

So this is my card! I used craft cardstock and chocolate chip ink for the flannel plaid BG and for the pine leaves. I then got some creamy carmel carstock and stamped the pine comes with chocolate chip craft ink and covered them in cleart embossing powder, heat set and then cut them out. I did the same for the sentiment with real red craft ink...although I didn't cut it out...went to my machine instead and did some stitching! I then inked up the edges with craft ink and crumpled the card a bit in places, added a ribbon, some eyelets and called it a day! I do wish I had some different color eyelets...some that weren't so barsh looking, but more subtle...ohh well such is live!

Supplies:

Stamps: Flannel Plaid Background, Peaceful Wishes

Ink: Craft chocolate chip, chocolate chip, craft real red

Paper: craft, creamy carmel

Accessories: ribbon, Embossing powder, eyelets, crop-a-dial, heat tool, paper snips

We attempted to go to the pumpkin patch yesterday, but when we got there they were closed...we were all very sad...the kids were in tears, so we knew we had to find some pumpkins to cheer them up! We went to our local nursery and bought some from there and came home a carved them.

I had NEVER carved a pumpkin before so this was just as exciting for me as it was fr the kids! We had such an awesome time getting all the pumpkin guts out and the carving it. I didn't realize this was so hard! Once we got them all prettied up we waited until dusk and then lit them...they kids were so excited about the pumpkins!

David is all smiles with his pumpkin! He wanted his carved just like a shirt he had...an orange shirt with a black face...so Andrew drew it on the pumpkin and they carvedit out together. Doesn't he look so pleased!

Emelia and I decided to make a ghost pumpkin and I think for my fisrt one it turned out pretty well! Although little miss priss wouldn't touch the insides...she did attempt to cut it!

Thanks for stopping by! We are hoping to go to the pumpkin patch tomorrow...so we'll see!

VSN on SCS

WHAT???? What do all those letters mean? (is this what you are asking too?) VSN is also known as Virtual Stamp Night and SCS as most of you are aware, is this awesome website http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ And it is going on this weekend...Well last night and today anyways! They usually have it every few months...what happens during VSN you might ask? Well it usually starts on a Friday night and every hour on the our (usually starting at 7pm) there is a challenge posted, to make a card or 3-d project...whats the catch you ask? YOu have to make your card in 45 minutes and then upload it to your SCS gallery...it is sooo much fun! Fridays are usually the *tailge* party and Saturdays the challenges start at noon and end at 11pm. And then each challenge hostess picks a winner and the winners get their cards placed in a special gallery FOREVER!!! It's pretty fun...although you do make a HUGE mess! Here are some of my cards from this past VSN...I got to play on Friday night some, but not on Saturday...BUMMER! VSN's usually have a theme and the theme this go round was *Girl's Night Out*
A little back Dress

I love this little card! The challenge was called *little black dress* and you had to make a card using your black cardstock...even for the mail panel! So I made this little cutey! Don't you just love this bird? It's from a set named *Always* and I think it's SUPERB... you will fefinately be seeing more projects with this set!!! I also used print pattern BG (to make it show up so nicely on the back cardstock, I used craft ink in pink passion...gotta LOVE the craft inks!!! for the main image, I actually stamped it with white craft ink and then embossed it with iridescen ice embossing powder, the sentiment was stamped with White craft ink as well! I'm really not too pleased with the ribbon (wish I had white) but this card NEEDED wide ribbon and this color was the only one that would even remotely do!)

Supplies:

Stamps: Always
Paper: basic black, pink passion
ink: pink passion craftm whispe white craft
accessories: ribbon, EP, heat gun
A shaped Card!
This card was for the inspiration challenge on Saturday. Here is some of the info on it!
Title: Little Black DressHostess: Jennifer (badger-girl)Keyword: JAN08VSNCDay/Date: Friday, January 18thTime: 8:00 PM EST
This was an inspiration challenge... Jennifer posted a picture of some shoes that she really liked and we had to make a card or project inspired by the shoes...it could be color, layout, shape...anything really! So this is what I made... I have really been into the shaped cards lately and I love love love how this one turned out...even the little bow I think is just perfect... off to the side just a tad... I wish they really did make this shoe, it would totally be mine!!!
Supplies:

Accessories: ribbon, hand held punch, paper piercer, paper snips
I hope you have enjoyed these cards! VSN was a blast and I hope you can play along next time... I will let you knw a tad bit sooner!!! LOL
