A little Birdie...

Hello hello! By now you have probably seen the amazing sketch for this week...if not please scroll down :)

I love this sketch, I like the two pieces going perpendicular to the main image panel! For my two pieces I have used the faux suade technique (when you rub a bone folder along one side of a piece of paper and the fibers start to separate, when you peel the two layers apart it looks like suade!) on the two blue strips...they look really cool in real life!

So I am seriously in LOVE with this image, it's a RAM image and it's called Birthday Parade The little owls are too stinkin cute I tell ya! I love them!

I colored my image with watercolor pencils and I think my coloring is getting better! ;) At least that's what I like to tell myself (still dreaming of copics...someday!) and cut it out using the nestabilities label 9 set...love this set of dies! To complete the card I thought some blong was in order...yes this was a boy card...and yes I did infact give it to a little boy last night for his 6th birthday...but a little bling never hurt anyone!

Supplies:
Stamps: Birthday Parade from the RAM collection for PWCO.

Ink: Stazon black
Paper: So saffron, vanilla, Prism blue and green. DP is jillibean soup, cream of mushroom

Accessories: watercolor pencils, blender pens, rhinestones, bigshot, nesties labels 9,

dimentionals, bone folder (for faux suade technique)

Thank you sooo much for stopping by!

Hugs and happy Stampin'

Seeing a spot...Spotlight

I'm hosting the Free 4 All Challenge on SCS today and since I haven't done spotlighting in a while I though that would be something fun for us to do!

I love the spotlighting technique because when you have a large image that needs to be colored it can seem a little overwhelming, but if you choose a little section to color then it's not as daunting!

I love how this card turned out...all the white space looks cool and I think the little colored circle looks pretty awesme too! I got the cool trim downtown at a trim shop (because everything is separated here...there is no one store for all your sewing needs, you have to go to 5 different ones to get everything :) The little jewels I got at on impulse when I bought something else and they were super cheap...so I added it to the cart about a year ago and haven't done anything with them until now! LOL I'm such a hoarder!

Here is a closer view, it doesn't look lined up from this angel but it really is! LOL Ohhh I was pretty excited, I colored the cupcake with my very own Copic markers...I only have 8 but it's a start! LOL

The inside reads "Fun, happy Birthday"

This card is also for a couple of challenges.

First the challenge over at Your Next Stamp Blog to Cut it out and pop it up

and next the sketch challenge over at 2sketches4you Sketch #52 by Kazan

Supplies:

Stamps: Cupcake Cutie by Your Next Stamp, sentiment from the beach Jenna Set By Little Paper Shop

Ink: Stazon black

Paper: tangerine tango, yo yo yellow, PTI white, Lime Rickey DP by Basic Grey

Accessories: trim, flat colored shells, gold thread, glitter, circle punches, copic markers, glitter, scalloped punch, watercolor pencils, blender pens

For my card I used {Garden Gate} and I think it turned out super cute! The card base is made from a watercoloring paper from Marks Finest Papers as well as the ribbon...love it! This card is super simple, but I love love love how it turned out...the colors aren't even so scary anymore! LOL Aside from the cardstock and ribbon all I really used was some pretty Martha stewart punches and copic markers...love those things! Someday I will get some of my very own!
Thanks for stopping by! Happy stampin and I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Each of the favors had a tea cup and saucer, tea bag of assorted decaf tea, candy necklace, a little ring and earing stickers. The boys had chocolate coins and boyish stickers in theirs. I think the favors turned out cute and I already had a boy tell me he used his tea cup! YEAHHH!!!

Let's Have a Tea Party...

My little Emelia is having a Tea Party for her 4th Birthday! My friend Nikki has the Sizzix retired teapot die...so I e-mailed Nikki (from Smells Like Homemade) and asked her is I could borrow it from her...She is the best so she said YES!!! We were very excited! Here are her invitations!

Emelia ran all the pretty paper through my bigshot herselt! I then cut all the pieces at the perforated sections and then she helped me glue the pieces back on...only 3 and already paper piecing! The paper we used is the Garden Party stack from Die cuts with a view Stephanie Hester from "My Card Shack" was generous enough to send me an incredibly amazing package this week and this paper pack was one of the things in it...along with many other amazing things. Girl you are amazing! THANK YOU so much!!!

Emelia fell in love with The Garden Party collection the minute I opened the box and said she wanted to use it for her invitations...she then went to my cardstock collection and picked rose red...which matched perfectly! This girl has an eye! I also got another package that had basic grey buttons and she asked if we could use those...I love vreating with her! He's too cute!

Here is the inside...Nikki had made an invitation with the tea pot last year and she had figured out all the proper placement...she was kind enough to e-mail me the template so all I had to do is insert my information! Thank you Nikki!!! You saved me a whole lot of trouble!

If you have this die and would like the word document for the wording please just e-mail me at mabieme1999@yahoo.com with "tea pot template" as the subject.

Supplies:
Stamps: None, the you're invited is computer generated
Ink: none
Paper: Garden party DP by Die Cuts with a view, rose red, green galore, very vanilla
Accessories: Basic grey buttons, linnen thread, glue dots, rode red ribbon, word window punch, heart punch, big shot, teapot die

Thank you sooo much for stopping by! Your comments are always welcome and appreciated!

Have a blessed day!

I made some stuff!!!!

I've been creating lots...just no time to upload! grrr...I guess with all the gorgeous weather outside...I don't want to be on the comp...but I MUST show you what I have made...it's just too cute and I love it!!! I have another card to show you, but it's buried in a HUGE SD card with over 1500 pictures...so I need to find it first! LOL

We went to a birthday party yesterday (little boy turning 1) and I already had a little shirt for him, but I wanted to add a little something to it. Andrew was napping and so were the kids, so I made a star book (Click here for Instructions, they were already made, so why re-invent the wheel with a tutorial?) They are very impressive and super cute! I also used my star punch and scor-pal to make the awesome 3-D stars for the cover. Colored the images with an inkpad and blender pen...gotta love me some blender pens!

And here is a picture of the book all opened up...pretty cool huh! One of my FAV albums to make...maybe I should try a mini one! I bet that would be super cute!!!

Made a super cute card to go with the book...love how it turned out and I used up a bunch of textured cardstock that has just been sitting there since it retired last year! I'm so bad at hoarding!!! The eyelets were the perfect touch and didn't make the card too bulky...and sinc eI didn't have the ink pads or refills anympre the always artichoke did the trick for the grass...not to bad!!!

And here is a picture of the whole ensamble...pretty cute if I do say so myself! I even made the bag! Instruction can be found here and here. I also added some of the left over white paper from the designer series paper to stregthen the bag handles...too cute! Of course it all had to match...plus I didn't have any boy bags...so I just had to make one! LOL gotta love matching paper packs!!!
Supplies:
Stamps: All from SU! Bundle of Jy, warmest regards, nursery necessities
Inks: Stazon black, baja breeze, creamy carmel, summer sun
Paper: wild wasabi, whisper white, buckaro blue, and manchester designer series paper
Accessories: star punch, scor-pal, blender pens, eyelets, crop-a-dial, 1 inch sheer cream ribbon, glitter, big shot, top note die, word window punch, dementionals...I think that's all! LOL I already gave it away and can't remember what else I used!
Anywho, I hope you like my little ensamble! Have a great day!
Hugs and happy Stampin'
