More clippies!

Okay so I had sooo much fun making these yesterday that I wanted to show you some that I had already made a while back...they are not only the clippie, but they are also a card and way to give them as a gift...don't you think they turned out cute? I will probably be making more Valentine's Day cliipies as I need some for the postal carrier (Cindy) and some for David's preschool teacher's and for my nephew's teachers... I know I'm an over achiever!!! So here is the crard/clippie up close...it was part of a swap for me!

Aren't these cute? Most of the supplies are retired from Su!, but I thought it would be cute to show you anyways! I used the word window punch to make a panel for the clip to slide into... I think that is how I will package the teachers slips too... I really like the added detail of the scallop in yesterdays clip...makes it look soo girly!

Thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday's Teacher

Hi there...It's Tuesday once again...boy the week goes by sooo fast!!! Here is today's Verse for ya!

If we confess our sins, He is Faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Wow, confessing our sins! I know this is a very heavy and scary topic to most...even me! I mean, I know I do things that aren't right, that are ...gasp...sinful and unrighteous, do I really want everyone else to know that I am a sinful person??? Do I want to admit to GOD that I have sinned, that I have done wrong in his eyes? Eventhough this is an extremely hard thing for people to do, I know that we must recognize the sin in our own lives, when we do, we forsake ourselves and seek redemption from our creator. We must acknowledge our complete reliance on the blood of Christ to cover ALL our sins. I am thankful that God forgives me of my sins when I have done wrong in his sight. I can appreciate that God can use any of my wrong decisions and my worngful doing and use it for His glory. I am grateful that all I have to do is ask for forgiveness. Have you asked God for forgiveness lately? Have you asked him into your life? Remember, tomorrow is not promissed, now is the time for salvation!

Today's tutorial goes out to Erin...Lova ya girl!

Jumbo paper clip bookmarks (AKA- clippies)

Here is what you will need for this project

- Jumbo paper clips (15 for 97cents at Walmart)
- coasters (light weight to go through your punches and die cut machines)
- craft ink or craft paint
- punches
- assortment of ribbon
- adhesive
- designer paper
- various cardstock colors

All supplies used are from Stampin' Up! Unless otherwise noted

You will want to start by punching 2 circles (1 3/8 inch) from the coasters (each coaster will give you 4 circles...enough for 2 clippies) you will now dip your clippies in craft paint (or paint them with craft paint) and set them aside to dry (this will give them a more finished look once you adhere them to the finished product).

While you wait for the circles to dry you will want to punch out your other shapes. I did 2 circles (1 3/8 inches) of designer paper, 2 scallop circles

Once your coaster circles have dried, you will want to adhere the designer paper to the side that is NOT inked...this is beneficial if you are not adding the scallop circle...looks soo polished!

But if you are adding the scalloped curcles...add them now! ;)Only a few more steps and you will be done...remember, you can make these as simple or complex as you want! But make sure you use a coaster for added support, these will be used as bookmarks, you want them to be sturdy!

Okay...now is where the questions usually begin...I DON"T usually use this type of adhesive, but the E-6000 has gone missing! Why don't I use this adhesive? Well it is just too slippery for me, and it takes too long to set for me...I'm an impatient, instant gratification girl!

You can also use a hot glue gun, this will speed up the dry time!

All you wanna do is set the petty sides down on the table...add a glop of adhesive in the center, place the giant paper clip in the glop and add the other pretty paper side up!

You will want both side to look like this! Youc an now start adding the pretty ribbons and any other embelishments you want!

For my project I stamped the images from the Always set in real red craft ink on shimmery white cardstock and then punched it out with the 1 1/4 inch punch...then I stamped the little flower in white craft ink on real red cardstock and punched that out with the 1/2 inch circle punch and adhered it with a dimentional for ...gasp...dimention!!! and your done!

You can add glitter...which I thought to add AFTER I had taken and uploaded the picture!!! but you get the idea!

And here is the finished project! ISn't it the cutest? I just love how they turn out! And for just 97cents for 15 clips, you got yourself a HUGE bargain! These make GREAT Valentine's Day Gifts for the kids teachers, along with some altered maiboxes, chocolate, and maybe a pen or notebook...who wouldn't LOVE this!!!

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial, if you have any questions, please let me know!

Here is a close up of the side...can you see all the dimention and what a difference the inked up coasters make? Have I mentioned that I love these???

So where do you get the lightweight coasters your wondering? Well it just so happens that I sell them!!! So if you need some, they are $7.55 for 50 lightweight coasters and that my friends INCLUDES shipping!!! E-mail me at: mabieme1999@yahoo.com if you would like some of these little beauties and I will mail them out asap!

Please let me know what you think of this tutorial! If you would like to make som clippies and upload them to your SCS gallery please use Keyword MSTT04, I wanna see too!
