Hubby is in the hospital...

Hello my friends,

Just wanted to update you on my everyday life! It's been crazy here with the kids starting school and getting sick from that. David has swim lessons at school and he got an ear infection and then he got a cold and passed it on to the girls who got fevers with it!

Friday and Saturday hubby started complaining of a pain on his side and thought he might have gotten a hernia from lifting things at work (he's a fire fighter) and went for some bloodwork and testing and they found out it was appendicitis (this was yesterday morning) and then last night he went back and had the appendix removed. He has to be in the hospital for a few days and then he will be home for a couple of weeks...so please keep us in your thoughts and prayers! For a speedy recovery and my sanity during this time!

I am sooo blessed to have such wonderful caring friends like you and I appreciate you all very much!

I'll be back tomorrow with another great LPS sneak peak...realease day is on the 3rd! If you haven't stopped by the LPS blog be sure to do so...let us know what your favorite Christmas carol is and be entered to win the set I previewd on monday...plus play along in the sketch challenge and be entered for another chance to win!

Hugs and blessings to you all!

LPS Monday Sneak Peek! {9-28-09}

Hello all, my card today is for Little Paper Shop Mondays but we are also previewing a super srcumptious set that will be released on October 3rd...world card making day...you don't want to miss it! I also have a very special somehting for World card making day! Stay tunned!

For this card we were to use a yummy sketch LPSC35. I rotated my sketch, but I love it either way...might have to make another one real soon! (without rotating!) The name of this super cute super scrumptious set is {Katie Caroler} by Little Paper Shop I know you love and want and need her! Isn't she just the cutest! I first stamped the fence on my very vanilla cardstock and then again on white copy paper, cut oput the one on copy paper and placed it on top of the origional and then stamped my little Katie, this way she looks like she's standing behind the fence...cute huh! And Silent night is one of my FAV song for Christmas...so I just had to go with it! Plus I love love the clear stamps because you can curve your sentiments to make them fit...life isn't just a straight line there are always curves and hills to get over or go around!
This card is colored with a combo of copics, watercolor pencils and refills and blender pens! Adding glitter to the whole thing really makes is shine...hahahaha but it looks super cute too! I also love the touch of black and white that the gingham ribbon adds!

Do you want to win {Katie Caroler}?! If so, there are two ways to do it...one by simply leaving a comment and you will be entered for a random chance to win...and #2 is to make a card using this sketch...you have one week, and then a winner will be selected at random as well! Trust me you *WANT *NEED*HAVE TO HAVE* this set!

If you are uploading to SCS or any other on-line gallery please be sure to use keyword LPSC35 so we can all see your creations! Now head on over to the LPS Blog to see what the rest of the DT has come up with!

Here is my card! I used a Whimsie Doodle digi stamp set called {Have a Seat} It is super cute and extremely versatile! I am in LOVE with it!!! The sketch was super cun too! I printed the chair on very vanilla cardstock and then again on a piece of patterned paper so that I could paper piece it...BTW I totally need a new ink cartridge! Lovin the sentiment on the DP too! Added some bling and called it a day! I love that HUGE giant prima flower...cute huh! Cut my circle using the coluzzle...faithful olf friend!
I was inspired by the colors in this super cute penguine pillow...isn't it adorable!

Whimsey S.O.S Sketch distressed!

Hello all,

I'm here with a super cute , super fun, challenge loaded card! This one is for 4 different challenges...all fun in their own right! For a third time this week is Whimsey Doodles challenge to use buttons...I'm running out of buttons people! Might have to snag more from the kids! LOL

The sketch is from Beate's awesome blog Fresh and Fun and it's her 99th sketch! I love Beate's sketches and this one is no exception...it's a fun sized card measureing 2.75 x 5.5 I love longish type cards!

The S.O.S. comes from yesterdays Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS...
S- sanding
O- out of the box (or circle in this case) technique
S- snow, swirls, snowman

And last but certainly NOT least is the challenge over at Taylored expressions to use distressing on your project...I choose to emboss the top panel with the swirl cuttlebug folder and then distress it by sanding it for a more snowy feel! So my project doesn't have a kitchen theme persay, but the swirl distressed paper reminds me of cinammon....my FAVORITE spice in my kitchen...I hope this works!

Here is my card! I am in LOVE with this digi image from Little Paper Shop her name is {Katie Igloo}
and she is absolutely FAB!!! So many possibilities with her! I love her hat! I decided to use some embroidery floss to add to a brad so it looked like a pom pom on top of her head and then I also added some little bitty pieces at the end of her scarf for a little more dimention. The scalloped punch is a marvy and to cut the circle I used the coluzzle cutting system and left katie uncut and then trimmed around her with my scissors! Colored her with water color pencils and then a blender pen to smooth it all out!

I think the buttons add a great touch and I also used them to cover up a small tear in my paper...hhahaa I lvoe using embelishments as coverups!

I opted to leave off the sentiment because the pretty shinny paper with all the words was sentiment enough...What do you thinkg?

And here is a little close up of the hat and scarft! Isn't it fab! on a side note, I used a cuttlebug embossing folder but was too lazy to get the maching out because I have a bunch of things on top of it and so I used my rolling pin praying that it would work! And it did!!! I was soooo excited!
Anywho, thank you soooo much for stopping by! Have a blessed weekend!
Happy Stampin'

Sweet La La Whimsey

The challenges from yesterday were so much fun that I decided to make another card...this time with a sketch from Sweet'N'Sassy stamps at their challenge blog The Sweet Stop! with a twist...so use red, black and cream! I used buttons as asked for by Whimsey Stamps and I did some more paper piecing (I think that's one of my FAV techniques of all time!) check out La La Land Crafts...lots of fun challenges there!
Fun challenges ladies...I might have to play again before the weekend is over...with Sunday being my 30th Birthday and all I might get lucky and win something! LOL

For the main image on this card I went a la Cindy Haffner and embossed the whole image with the swiss dots Cuttlebug embossing folder so it looks like snow is falling on her...pretty neat huh! I love how Cindy does this...I hope she doesn't mind me coping her!
Supplies:
Stamps: Sherri in the Snow By Rubber Romance
Ink: Stazon black
Paper: retired DS paper, whisper white, basic black, creamy carmel
Accessories: buttons, embossing folder, gingham ribbon, sponge, nesties lables 3
Thank you sooo much for stopping by and for all the well wished from yesterday! I feel much better...amazing what a good nights rest will do for you! LOL
Have a blessed day, may you be the light in someones dark day!
Hugs,

Sorry I've been so quiet this week...

but we've been getting ready for my in-laws to come for a visit and then I had some work I needed to get done for this weeknds Little Paper Shop release, so I haven't had much time to post anything! But to wet your appetite just a tad, I decided to share something with you that I have made a while back...it's a shadow box frame that went along with the 150 birth announcements I made!
That little baby is just too cute and made working on this project that much more fun! The card with the small picture is the actual birth announcement and then I added the large picture and an inside to the birth announcements for easy reference...I just adore how it turned out!!! Stamps are by Just Rite Stampers and this is the "Brayton" font, the little star image is by Stampin' Up! from the nursery necessities stamp set.

This one is a little close up of the bottom, I think the little brad with the feet print is just too cute! Love love love it!!!

This is a closeup of all the cool buttons, aren't they pretty awesome? I love them and they are acutally brads...pretty neat huh!

Thank you sooo much for stopping by! I will be updating the supplies list soon...as soon as the in-laws are gone, which unfortunately will be too soon!

Have a blessed day!

CC and CPC challenges coming at ya!!!

So today I wanted to make a card and I wanted it to be cool...LOL don't we want all our cards to be cool?

Anywho I got this awesome little stamp set from my friend Nikki and I just had to use it this week...so I played along intodays color challenge 235 on Splitcoaststampers and also with the Tuesday sketch challenge on Christian Paper Craft website...both fun to play with...well all except that hidious eggplant color! LOL

This was a super quick card as it's already 11:20 here and I need to get to bed! LOL so for the UR I used a Just Right Stampers font called Brayton and stamped it off twice to achieve a much lighter color of this ink...did I mention I don't care for this color? The sentiment from the "This is the Day" set from Technique Tuesday. I might just have to make another card using this layout!

Supplies:

Stamps: This is the day by technique tuesday, Brayton font by Just right stampers

Ink: Stazon black, elegant eggplant

Paper: old olive, basic black, whisper white, Urban oasis SU! designer series paper

Accessories: dimentionals, rhinestones

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Dimentional CAS31

Today's Clean and Simple31 (CAS) challenge on SCS is to make a card using dimentionals....so I did! LOL

I really enjoy the CAS challenge...I LOVE one layer cards and always try to use them for the CAS challenge, because really, how much more clean and simple can it get?

For my card today I used some Rubber Romance Stamps...the main image is called Paige with Present and I think she is just stunning! You can purchase page here at the RRS Etsy Shop .

For my card I simply cut a pice of 8.5x11 piece of cardstock in half to 4.25x11 and then folding it in half. I then stamped Paige in stazon black and water colored using a blemder pen and ink pads.

Tie a ribbon and a charm(found these are A.C. Moore in the jewlry section!) and popped up the sentiment...also from rubber romance!

Paiges skirt is paper pieced using Bella rose designer series paper...used both sides, one for the top of the skirt and then flipped it and used the other side for the under ruffle!

Supplies:
Stamps: Paise with present and sentiment both from Rubber Romance
Ink: Stazon Black, Ridding Hood red, pink pirouette, chocolate chip
Paper: Naturals white, Bella Rose Designer Paper by SU!
Accessories: 1 3/8 circ;e punch, key tag punch, blender pens, pink ribbon, charm, dimentionals

Thank you sooo much for stopping by!
