WEDNESDAY, May 11: Big Boy Toys

Lovin this set! Perfect for father's day, but also for those very masculine cards you might need...right now all my cards are on the side of simple, but I like that...sometimes with all the new toys that come out we forget about the simplicity if it all! Plus, it's for a DUDE!!! They don't care about all the fluff anyways!!!

Now go check out the rest of the DT's creations!!!

Taylored Mad...

for plaid that is! I used the fabby Challenge sketch 113 over at Taylored Expressions to make my card today and I used the Mad for plaid challenge that Whimsie Doodles has issued over at Paper Craft Planet! This is also my second entry for thre Your Next Sstamp Challenge 16 to pop it up, cut it out. And last, but certainly now least, Treehouse stamps has a challenge to make a manly card...I think this fits the bill!

This is actually a large card...it measures 5.5 inches square, but I love it and it pretty much rocks! I added crystal effects to the legs and some of the arm rolls to add dimention and the appearance of luxury to the card. The ribbon treatment was for the fringe challenge over at the Spotted Canary Foru,...I simple added adhesive to the back of some chocolate twill tape and the cut small pieces of the same ribbon and adhered them to the long piece...I think it looks pretty cool!

I guess I should of added some sort of something where the gussetted buttons are, but I just realized I didn't just now looking at it...ohh well, such is life! LOL

For the floor I simply sponged it with a brown craft pad and then used a fine line pen and drew the lines with a straight edge. For the wall I sponged with a gable green craft pad and sponge and then added the wallpaper dots...I think it looks pretty cool!

Supplies:

Stamps: Have a Seat by Whimsie Doodles and {Father} by Little Paper Shop

Paper: White and Kraft by PTI, Junebug designer paper by Basic Grey

Ink: Stazon Black, craft Chocolate Chip, craft gable Green

Accessories: twill ribbon, coluzzle circle cutter, micro-fine pen

Thank you sooo much for stopping by!

Stamp Happy,

Sketch 181 and some belated father's day cards!

So today's sketch challenge was a super fun sketch found here. I really enjoyed the sketch and had just gotten some Hambly screenprints yesterday at an LSS and so I combined the two! The screen print is printed in a chocolate brown and it's called brocade...to die for! I also wand to keep it kind of simple as I was making this for a man...so you know...not too much fru fru...I don't know that he'll appreciate the coral, but hey...at least he's getting a card! LOL Just kidding.

Here are the supplies used
Stamps: Much appreciated
Ink: Basic Brown
paper: Shimmery white, cameo coral, chocolate chip, tempting turquoise, brocade screen print by Hambly
accessories: ribbon, silver brads
All supplies by SU! unless otherwise specified
This card was hubby's Father's Day card... I didn't want to post it because I didn't ant him to see it...and I have been super busy since Father's Day so no time to post...Don't worry, Tuesday's Teacher WILL be back next week! I don't actually own this stamp, my friend Sara over at Sara's Stamping Sanctuary sent it to me a while back and I just thought it was perfect for the occasion! What are the supplies for this little beauty you ask? Well wait no more!
Supplies:
Stamps: Riley Moose by Hannah stamps, All year cheer I
paper: tempting turquoise, chocolate chip, Designer series paper tempting turquoise
accessories: SU! markers Twill tape ribbon

This next card was easy peasy! Really 2 stamps and I was done...the nice thing about this card is that you can change the sentiment and have it be for any occasion. All I did was stamp the frame in stazon timber brown ink and then stamped the sentiment on the inside with blue bayou ink (which will not be available after Aug 10th!) and then used an aqua painter to spread the color a little...no need to add ink to the aqua painter, the water based ink will run and spread a little with just adding water!

Then I used my little craft knife and cut around the stamped arches at the top and bottom, threaded the ribbon through and added a brad...now it looks like it's hanging, Neat huh?

Supplies:

Stamps:Label Classics, All year cheer (both retired)

Ink: blue bayou, stazon timber brown

Paper: shimmery white

Accessories: vintage brads, brown ribbon

This last card was for both Father's day and for the Featured stamper challenge on SCS this last Sunday. The Featured stamper was Dinidill. So the idea behind the featured stamper is that you go into their gallery, find a card that you like and kinda copy it...but you have to change some of the things so that it's NOT an exact replica of the card...what's the point then right? Then you upload your card to SCS and link it to the challenge thread...it's actually quite fun to see what everyone comes us with!

I only used her layout and I changed just about everything else. I love how this card came out and so did the recipient! (I made 2...different colors though and gave one to my FIL and one to my BIL)

Supplies:

Stamps: Loads of Love, All year cheer, lovely as a tree

ink: stazon timber brown, soft sky, blue bayou, old olive SU! markers

paper: really rust, old olive, whisper white, unknown DS paper

accessories: vintage brads, aqua painter, scallop punch as a mask, piece of paper to mask the truck

That's all I have for ya! I hope you liked it and I'm sorry I have been so spacey lately!

Thanks for stopping by!

happy Stampin'

Rocket Daddy???

So For todays limited supplies challenge on Splitcoaststampers we were to use a knot on our cards and limit our layers...well I achieved the knot, but not so sure I achieved the "limited layers" still a super cute card...I'm supposed to give it to one of my sons friends who is having his 5th birthday party on Saturday...but I'm not so sure...it's so darn cute!!! The sketch is by Jen del Muro and I found it in the Stamp Ten Magazine.
Supplies:
Stamps: Pun Fun
Paper: wild wasabi, cool caribean, very vanilla, designer paper from SS Kit
accessories: cuttlebug, embossing folder, star punch, ribbon, square punches, 1/4 inch circle punch, CAD, silver eyelets

As you can see I loved the sketch so much that I had to make another one...one is flipped (rocket card) and the other is not...and yes I still call my Dad "Daddy". This is his Father'sDay card...he's not so much a hunter, but he does love the outdoors...well at least he's outside when he's working...which he seems to do ALL the time!

I was going for a mono cramatic theme with this one...thats why the animals are green. Here are the supplies I used for this card

Paper: always artichoke, wild wasabi, very vanilla, SS Kit designer paper (all SU!)
stamps: wild life reserve(SU), All yeah cheer (SU)Inkadinkadoo
accessories: star punch, square punches, crop-a-dial

Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Stampin'

okay I'm off to ride bikes with the kids...see ya later!
