PaperWorks Co. Sketch challenge

Isn't the sketch soooo much fun this week?! I really love it! It's a great way to use up some scraps or have fun with different embossing foldcers! I love this little hippo with her little friend on her back...just too cute! I used some yummy DP, it's called Simple Pleasures from Three Bugs in a Rug and I love it!

For the swirls and the heart I used an adhesive transfer from Doodlebugs called "Stick With it" and I love these transfer sheets...just add glitter! I also used three different embossing folders. I used Bloom Dots, Spots and Dots, and Swiss Dots. The image I used is from the Safari friends collection and it's called Harriet the Hippo. If you haven't already, you need to check out this collection, the animals are adorable!

The rest was easy peasy...simply ink around the edges and water color your image and you are good to go! I do hope you'll play along with the sketch challenmge this week!

Supplies:

Stamps: Harriet Hippo from the Safari friends collection by PWCO

Ink: stazon black, rose red

It's our 11 year anniversary today and after 11 wonderful years, this is the family we have created! With God's provisions, love and mercy we have grown together. This is one of my FAV wedding pics! It was taken at the church grounds where we got married, Cala Lillies are my FAV flowers!!

WT246- A Sweet Challenge

Hey there my lovely friends! First and foremost I would like to wish everyone a very Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving! I thank the forefathers of America for their vision for a freedom of religion! A freedom to choose, a freedom to speak what you want! I thank them for going through with their vision no matter how arduous the journey may be! I am thankful to be able to celebrate this Thanksgiving and Lord willing many more to come!

Now onto my sweet challenge! Todays Splitcoaststampers ways to challenge 246 was to use sweets in your project! I have been wanting to try a candy bar ribbon slide for quite some time (even confiscated a candy bar from the kids trick or treating basket and stashed it!) and now I had the chance to do it...I think it turned out super cute and I'm going to give it to one of the guys at the gate of the base...might make a few more, they were super fast and are super cute and make a nice little gift for the guys and gals here that help make this place safe for us all!
And here is my project! Super fabby fab!
Really it took me less than 15 minutes to make this lovely little boy! Hmmm maybe I'll make a little tutorial for these little guys! With different measurements for different candy bars! LOL I think I'm getting ambitious! I already have another tutorial I'm working on, so please be on the lookout for that! P.S. The tag reads Holiday Blessings.
Here is the ribbon slide open.

I think it turned out super cute. I lvoe the colors and those felt snowflakes just add such a nice touch!

Whimsied Monday WSC29...

NOT A CARD!!! Todays Whimsy Stamps Blog challenge is to create something other than a card...I opted for an ornament...which I've been in the mood to make! So there you have it! LOL I hope you like it!

This little guy was super hard to take a pic of! I finally decided to just lay it flat on my counter and take a picture...Not the best, but not the worst. I totally need an OTT light!
Here is a little side view of it. I used the same DP that I used for the "wallpaper" and lined the side of the tin...looks sooo awesome, if I do say so myself! I stamped {Pajama Time Emma} on very vanilla using stazon black and then on Eskimo Kisses paper pad by Basic Grey/ cut it out and colored the sweet girl using water color pencils and a blender pen. I used a small piece of lace under the tree to look like a tree skirt. The tree itself was free cut and then embossed using the Swirls cuttlebug embossing folder. I love that folder, it was my first! I then added some pearls and crystals for the ornament and an eyelet for the topper.

The tree is up on dimentionals and {Pajama Time Emma} is up on 8 dimentionals stacked on top of each other for hight. The sentiment is {Katie Christmas} by Little Paper Shop.

Supplies:

Stamps: {Pajama Time Emma} by Whimsy stamps, sentiment {Katie Caroler} by Little Paper Shop

Ink: Stazon black

Paper: very vanilla, Desiger paper is Eskimo Kisses by Basic Grey

Accessories: crystals and pearls, star eyelets, glue dots, dimentionals, big shot, embossing folder, ribbon, crop-a-dial

I hope you play along with the WSC29 Challenge over at the Whimsy Stamps Blog...create something 3-D, you know you want to!

This project is also for the following challenges:

*Cute Daisy May- Texture

*Poly Craft- No Card Allowed

*Paper Cutz- stamped image

* Secret Crafter- Four Seasons (winter)

*Corrosive- Emboss it (my tree is embossed)

Whimsey S.O.S Sketch distressed!

Hello all,

I'm here with a super cute , super fun, challenge loaded card! This one is for 4 different challenges...all fun in their own right! For a third time this week is Whimsey Doodles challenge to use buttons...I'm running out of buttons people! Might have to snag more from the kids! LOL

The sketch is from Beate's awesome blog Fresh and Fun and it's her 99th sketch! I love Beate's sketches and this one is no exception...it's a fun sized card measureing 2.75 x 5.5 I love longish type cards!

The S.O.S. comes from yesterdays Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS...
S- sanding
O- out of the box (or circle in this case) technique
S- snow, swirls, snowman

And last but certainly NOT least is the challenge over at Taylored expressions to use distressing on your project...I choose to emboss the top panel with the swirl cuttlebug folder and then distress it by sanding it for a more snowy feel! So my project doesn't have a kitchen theme persay, but the swirl distressed paper reminds me of cinammon....my FAVORITE spice in my kitchen...I hope this works!

Here is my card! I am in LOVE with this digi image from Little Paper Shop her name is {Katie Igloo}
and she is absolutely FAB!!! So many possibilities with her! I love her hat! I decided to use some embroidery floss to add to a brad so it looked like a pom pom on top of her head and then I also added some little bitty pieces at the end of her scarf for a little more dimention. The scalloped punch is a marvy and to cut the circle I used the coluzzle cutting system and left katie uncut and then trimmed around her with my scissors! Colored her with water color pencils and then a blender pen to smooth it all out!

I think the buttons add a great touch and I also used them to cover up a small tear in my paper...hhahaa I lvoe using embelishments as coverups!

I opted to leave off the sentiment because the pretty shinny paper with all the words was sentiment enough...What do you thinkg?

And here is a little close up of the hat and scarft! Isn't it fab! on a side note, I used a cuttlebug embossing folder but was too lazy to get the maching out because I have a bunch of things on top of it and so I used my rolling pin praying that it would work! And it did!!! I was soooo excited!
Anywho, thank you soooo much for stopping by! Have a blessed weekend!

I've been Inspired!

Today's Inspiration Challenge 188- Chasing fireflies was inspired by the website Chasing Fireflies. Boy do they have some super cute things! When I clisked on the toys section the picture below is what I saw, I was totally inspired by the awesome colors! So I made a card using them!

This is my card here I really like how it turned out! I love the white shadowing and the pretty orange sun and even the pink background...but I just couldn't work the red in! Ohhh well I did get a tad bit of green and that wasn't even though that wasn't in the picture...it still looks cute!!! LOL

For ther flowers I simply stamped them in tempting turquiose and then went over them with a versamarker and covered in clear embossing powder and heat set. Then I punched a circle on a piece of scrap paper and a sponge to create the sun. Then placed the circle on top of my already orange circle and created the pink behind the flowers...very fun adn super easy card to make!

Thanks for looking!

Here is a list of things I used:

Supplies:
Stamps: Upsy Daisy by Stampin' Up!, sentiment is from a Little Paper Shop set called Endless Arrangements
Ink: Tempting turquoise, stazon black, pretty in pink, tangerine tango
Papers: Prett in pink, tangerine Tango, whisper white, naturals white, pink flamingo designer paper
Accessories: Pretties kit, 1 3/8 circle punch, sponge, versa marker, clear embossing powder, heat gun, certainly celery grosgrain ribbon, 1/8 inch circle punch, 1/2 inch circle punch

Thank you soo much for stopping by! One more day till I complete 7 days of challenges! YEAHHH!!!

Stamps in Disguise

Today's Limites supplies challenge 192 is a doosey! At least is was for me! I was pretty much stumped until I remember that I had to make a guyih card for my sister FIL...he let me go to the Redskins football game with them FREE of charge...that deserves at least a thank you card! So I thought today's challenge was perfect!

So what did I come up with and what set did I use? I know the set is probably not even recognizable, but it's called Lifes a Breeze by Stampin' Up! and the sentiment is from a retired set called much appreciated. This card was super easy to make...the sketch was from a sketch challenge over at Angelosity (she's celebrating her 18 days of Angelosity and trust me you don't want to miss the chance for the AWESOME prize at the end!!!) and I simply embossed the main pannel and then tied some ribbon, stamped the sentiment and worked on the focal image...I wanted this card to not be too froo froo cuz it is a guy card...hints the minimal layers!

I choose these colors because they are the colors of our beloved Skins! For the main image I stamped the water tube on shimmery vanilla cardstock using craft ink...immediately after stamping it you use an aqua painter or brush and color the whole thing...covering the hole. I then inked my stamp again and rock and rooled the stamp to give it more texture...added the laced and did some sponging and called it a day!

Supplies:

Stamp: Life's a Breeze, Much Appreciated

Ink: Craft Chocolate chip

Paper: Bravo burgundy, more mustard, shimmery vanilla

Accessories: More mustard ribbon, big shot, tree branches cuttlebug embossing folder

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you like my stamp in disguise!

Happy Stampin'

May God Bless you today and Always!

Mad Flannel card

So todays Technique Challenge WT188 on SCS was mad for plaid to make a card using plaid...I had to think for a bit and then I remembered that I had the flannel plaid background stamp...more mute than what I think of when I think of plaid, but I think it worked out well for this card! I love the simplicity of the colors and how quick it came togeher...I don't usually get to stamp in the day, but the baby was sleeping and the big kids were watching a movie and this card only took like 10 minutes max! I love how they come so fast some times!

So this is my card! I used craft cardstock and chocolate chip ink for the flannel plaid BG and for the pine leaves. I then got some creamy carmel carstock and stamped the pine comes with chocolate chip craft ink and covered them in cleart embossing powder, heat set and then cut them out. I did the same for the sentiment with real red craft ink...although I didn't cut it out...went to my machine instead and did some stitching! I then inked up the edges with craft ink and crumpled the card a bit in places, added a ribbon, some eyelets and called it a day! I do wish I had some different color eyelets...some that weren't so barsh looking, but more subtle...ohh well such is live!

Supplies:

Stamps: Flannel Plaid Background, Peaceful Wishes

Ink: Craft chocolate chip, chocolate chip, craft real red

Paper: craft, creamy carmel

Accessories: ribbon, Embossing powder, eyelets, crop-a-dial, heat tool, paper snips

We attempted to go to the pumpkin patch yesterday, but when we got there they were closed...we were all very sad...the kids were in tears, so we knew we had to find some pumpkins to cheer them up! We went to our local nursery and bought some from there and came home a carved them.

I had NEVER carved a pumpkin before so this was just as exciting for me as it was fr the kids! We had such an awesome time getting all the pumpkin guts out and the carving it. I didn't realize this was so hard! Once we got them all prettied up we waited until dusk and then lit them...they kids were so excited about the pumpkins!

David is all smiles with his pumpkin! He wanted his carved just like a shirt he had...an orange shirt with a black face...so Andrew drew it on the pumpkin and they carvedit out together. Doesn't he look so pleased!

Emelia and I decided to make a ghost pumpkin and I think for my fisrt one it turned out pretty well! Although little miss priss wouldn't touch the insides...she did attempt to cut it!

Thanks for stopping by! We are hoping to go to the pumpkin patch tomorrow...so we'll see!

Happy Stampin'

God Bless you,

Anniversary & New Feature

I made this card for some very close friends of the family. My sister-in-laws Aunt and Uncle...are they my family too? Anyways we care for them dearly and they will be celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this year. This wonderful couple have gone through a lot this past year and a bunch of their friends and family are sending them anniversary cards to remind them we love them!

So this is the card I came up with...it just so happens to fit perfectly into todays Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS wink wink. I love the way this heart looks embossed and since the 25th anniversary is the silver anniversary I went with it! Added some Silver carstock and shimmery white cardstock, and called it a day! I really like how simple this card is, but it's also elegant...at least I think so!

Supplies:

Stamps: Always, Hugs and Wishes
Paper:basic black, shimmery white, silver
Ink:silver encore, versamark
Accessories:silver ribbon, siver eyelets, silver embossing powder, crop-a-dial
