Tuesday's Teacher

I know it's been a while, but I haven't forgotten! I justly didn't like back tracking if I was late or made a mistake in posting my Tuesday's teacher...hopefully I'll be better organized and be a week ahead of myself...instead of making the project the day of! So as always, we will start with a Bible verse...

We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us the deeds You did in their days...Psalm44

This verse always reminds me to read my bible! The other day I was passing a church and for the most part that have neat sayings on their bill boards...they seem to catch my attention...any who the one that really got to me a few weeks ago was one that said..."Dusty Bibles lead to dirty lives" and how true that is!

The more we stray from reading the word of God, studying what our "fathers" have passed on to us through this awesome book, we seem to put God on the back burner and start doing things for ourselves...at least I do. I tend to forget how God is always there for me when I need him...he always provides for me in time of need...here is a super cool example.

Last week or so I went to the Goodwill to drop off a bag of good toys my kids no longer played with...on my agenda that day was also to go to Target to get Mela a new pair of white sandals...she was in desperate need...anyways I walked out of the Goodwill store and though hey let me check the shelves here to see what they might have! So I walked back inside and there on the shelves with a Target tag still attached were a BRAND NEW pair of white sandals size 6...the ONLY pair in the whole store I might add...now some would say that's coincidence, but I know that God placed those there just for me! God is good and I need to be getting better at reading the bible everyday and see what my "Father" is teaching me through His word.

One paper pocket Book

Supplies:
-Card stock 12inches x 8.5 inches (here real red)
-3 pieces of coordinating card stock cut to 2 3/4 inches x 4 inches (here So Saffron)
-3 pieces of card stock cut to 2 1/2 inches x 3 3/4inches (here rose red)
- 3 pieces of designer paper cut to 2 1/4 inches x 3 1/2 inches (here basic grey)
-2 pieces card stock cut to 2.5 inches x 4 inches (here rose red)
- 2 pieces of card stock cut to 2 3/8inches x 4 7/8 inches designer paper and card stock scraps, punches stamps and accessories
-really sticky adhesive ( I used my ATG700)
-Belly Band is 1.5 inches x 10 inches

Step 1
Score your card stock on the 8 1/2 inch side at 4 1/4 inches

Step 2: rotate the paper so that the 12 inches goes across the top of the Scor-pal now score the paper at 3, 6 and 9 inches

Step 3: Line the 9 inches score line up with one of the score lines at a diagonal and score at an angle (you can make this as deep as you would like it)

Do the same at the 3 inch score mark

Step 4: Score all the marks so that it looks like this...do not adhere just yet...we will want to add some details first.

Step 5: Use your circle punch (or other shape) to punch a hole in the first and second sections the ones that don't have folds (I made a boo boo and adhered my pretty paper before punching...so don't make the same mistakes as me!)

Step 6: Now you can adhere it closed! I used my ATG and added adhesive just to the score lines and then folded it back up.

This is what the book looks like when all the elements are added to the pages. Simply adhere the layers in order that they are mentioned on the supplies list and add to different sections of your book. I used my Riveting (retired) set by SU! for the inside and front cover slide

The final step is to add the belly band, I usually don't score these, I just wrap them around the project and make sure it's not too loose that it won't stay on or too tight that I can't get the book off and on.

And this is what the finished book looks like...you can add picture or a gift card to the different sections or even journaling and make it a mini scrapbook...the nice thing is that it fits in a regular sized envelope, but it will probably require extra postage and hand canceling!

Thanks for stopping by! It felt sooo good to get this done on a Tuesday!

Have a super stamping day!

Tuesday's Teacher

I know I have been MIA a couple of weeks for Tuesday's techer, but with Christmas and New Year's falling on a Tuesday I knew you would excuse me graciously! Thank you sooo much for being patient with me as I try to get myself ia routine and on track for the 2008. So here is my scripture verse for today...a very fitting one I might add!

But this I say brethren, the time is short... 1 Corinthians 7:29

Wow, where do I start with that one? Time for me is never enough in a 24 hour day. I never seem to have enough time to hang out with the hubby or play with the kids. I never seem to have enough time to clean the kitchen, scrub the bathrooms, floors, vacuum, or do laundry. There never seems to be enough time to finish projects that I've started or even to keep in touch with friends! But most importantly, I try to do all these things that I think I need to get done and I don't save enough time for the most importantly I don't seem to make the most important priority in my life at all on a consistent basis without the help of my awesome hubby, what is more impostant than all that I have listed above you ask? Spending time with my creator! Reading the bible, praying, focusing on what is most important or talking to my friends, neigbors, anyone that will listen about Jesus, my creator. So yes, time is short! Have you made the most of it today? Don't worry about the dirty dishes, the clothes that has to be put away make time for God! He loves you and wants to be in your life daily, he wants a relationship with you, he wants to know that you love him as much as he loves you! No one knows how long they will be here on earth, so while we are here we need to make the most of the time God has given us, make sure you share your faith with your friends, family and complete strangers so that they too can meet Jesus when they get to heaven! The only way to the Father! So go ahead...share Jesus today, make time for Him!

I don't have a tutorial for you today! But I do have a product review and a
little enabling!
What is this little beauty you might ask? Well this my dear friends is my personal favorite adhesive gun! It's called an ATG700 and I am in LOVE with it! It has strong adhesive, it holds 3 different widths of adhesive (if you want to use 1/4 inch adhesive, be sure to purchase the adapter) and the adhesive is very inexpensive (and as much adhesive as I use, I need it to be cheap!) It also holds 1/2inch and 3/4 inch for your bigger projects.
How cheap is the adhesive you as and where can I ge tthis little beauty?
-I got my ATG700 here and the adhesive is $2.44 for a oll of 36 yards...yes 36 yards!!! And if you buy 12 rolls or more then they are only $2.27 not too shabby if you ask me!
How much is the ATG700 and Adapter?
- the ATG700 costs $36.62 (the CHEAPEST I have ever seen it!!!)
- the adapter is $7.33
What if I only want to use 1/4inch tape?
- I would suggest you purchase the ATG714 (red NOT yellow) $36.62 and no need for the adapter saving yourself $7.33
Can I get Acid Free tape?
-YES! it's called Gold and it's not too much more than the regular 1-11 rolls is $2.89 and 12+ rolls is $2.80
How Quick is shipping?
-it depends on where you live, I live in Virginia and got my POD is a few days, and I say POD because it comes all wrapped in bubble wrap and no box...it's the funniest thing!
Is it easy to use?
- In my opinion it is EXTREMELY easy to use, it is a little big, but you'll get used to the size! It's nice that ot's that big, that way you won't loose it...unless you have a HUGE mess like mine! YOu might have some trouble loading it, but if you do you can just read the directions found here, teaching you how to load it...there used to be a cute video out there somewhere, but I can't seem to find it!
So there you have it! If you have any questions please leave me a comment and I will be more than happy to answer it for you!
Happy Stampin!
