Challenged by Roseann, Kittie, Laura, Jen,Lauren, and Taylor

WOW...that's a whole lot of challenges! So I made a couple more cards today and all together these two cards fit into 6 challenges! Good grief thats some major multi tasking! Here is a link for the Dare to get Dirty 08 challenges...if you are not a fan club member at SCS think about joining...lots of cool things to see and some fun playing in the challenges!

This fisrt card covers 4 challenges all on its own...now I'm not sure about the designer paper on the bottom flap...wish I hadn't adhered it until I finished my little scene...but such is life! So this covers Taylors challenge to make a card with a cupcake, Roseanns Challenge to make a flap card..tutorial here. Kitties challenge to make a scene...how do you like my little dinning room table, chairs and the lovely mirror on the back wall? It has a gold frae...used my painty pen! And last but not least, Laura's challenge for Detressing...I sure did use my sponge and distressor!
I even used 4 punches and my coluzzle! Talk about using my tools! For my closure I actually used a little piece of velcro since I don't have any magnest strong enough to hold through several sheets of cardstock and not look bulky!
What you'll need:
Stamps:Mark the date (for sentiment) Sock Monkey (for cupcake)
Ink: stazon timber brown, temting turquoise, basic black marker, pumpkin pie marker, chocolate chip craft pad for sponging
Paper: Purely pomegranate, bali breeze designer paper, pumpkin pie, tempting turquoise, shimmery white bella rose designer paper
Accessories: scallop circle punch, painty pen, coluzzle, sponge, circle punches, word window punch
This next card I made for Laurens Monochromatic challenge and for Jen's Sketch challenge...bith were quite fu and the mono chromatic just happened but chance...because I am NO good at Monochromatic! I do like how it turned out though and I especially love the rub-ons on either side of the card...not much Stamping, but still pretty cute! This card measures 5.25 square. Once I got all the paper cut out and placed where I like it, the card itself actually came together pretty quick...I think I figured out that I am pretty much a paper and ribbon girl...I do try to use ore embelishments, but I just love my paper and ribbon!
For the flower based paper, I used the bali breeze designer paper that I cut and the punched with the scallop border punch and then punched each scallop with the 1/16th circle punch. The white cardstock is the shimmery white and thats about it! I stamped my sentiment on the designer paper itself...it was just too pretty and went well with the monochromatic theme!
What you'll need:
Stamps: Mark the date
Ink: Staz-on timber brown
Paper: old olive, certainly celery, shimmery white, bali breeze designer paper
Accessories: Crop-A-Dial (to punch the holes) celery ribbon, western rub-ons, scallop border punch, 1/16th holde punch, 1.25 and 1 3/8 square punches
Okay and last but CERTAINLY NOT least, I got to meet Beverly AKA as Beestamper on SCS...here is her AWESOME blog! She was doing at workshop close to my house so off I went with all three kids in tow to meet her! She is such a nice person and I had a blast meeting her and seeing her wonderful projects! Thanks Bev...chat with you soon!
Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you all have a FAB rest of your weekend!

Pacific Dreams

Don't foeget about the Blog Candy in this Post...good until Monday when I do the drawing!!!

So I didn't hav much time to work on a card today and I wanted to use Pacific Point (one of the new in colors 08) and so here she is! Not too much detail and stuff, but I really like the bling...the adhesive isn't that impossibly bright in real life...you can hardly see it actually, but you know how it is when you're in a hurry!

This card was made for several challenges...cuz you know that's how I roll! It was made for the WT176 Challenge Negative Thoughts. It was also made for a couple Dare to get Dirty 08 challenges. First the Sihlouette Challenge hosted by Joan and also the Stitching challenge Hosted by Julia S

I started with a piece of pacific point cardstock knowing that I really wanted to use this new color...and when I cut it I happen to lay it upon some Sahara sand and I though...hey this isn't so bad! So I went with it. I used that very piece and punched a 3 inch scallop circle out of it and used the negative (or left over) of the punch and stamped the sihlouette image on the inside and went from there. I then stamped the print pattern background stamp (which is only available until Aug 10th!) in Sahara sand on sahara sand...tied the ribbon, stamped the sentiment and did some sewing! And there you have it...a simple, cute and blingy card! Ohhh I also sponged the inside of the scallop circle as well as all the way arount he outside!

What you will need:
Stamps: Happy Harmony, print pattern
Paper: Pacific Point, sahara sand
Ink: Pacific Pount, Sahara sand, stazon Timber Brown
Accessories: Bling by Heidi swapp, Wide Vanilla Grosgrain ribbon (su!), Linnen thread, paper piercer, 3inch scallop circle punch

Thanks for stopping by!
I'm working on a journal with Taylors challenge to use a cupcake...maybe tomorrow!

Happy Stampin'

P.S. Don't forget about the Blog Candy Here...there are only a few more days to get in on the action!

One more sneek Peek

Here is another sneak Peek at the new goodies...I don't think I've shared this card, but I really really like how it turned out...especially the faux ric rac that I made using the brand new scallop punch...let me tell you it ROCKS!!!

Here is a close up of the card...don't you just love the scallops and the ric rac? The Ric raqc was made by using the scallip border punchy on both side of a piece of cardstock 3/4 and the other 5/8 inches wide. Fisrt punch one side and then punch the other side making sure the scallops alternae...not even.
Hmmm Can I just say that so far I am LOVING the NEW catty...and I don't even have it here in my hot little hands yet...I can't wait to see what color the cover is and to oder all the new goodies...we are going to have SOOOO much fun together!

What do you need?
Stamps: Dream Du Jour, Heard from the Heart

Tuesday's Teacher & Sneak Peek #5

Here is today's bible verse...one I am really partial to, I really feel the love of God through this verse. He created the heavens and the earth in 7 days and thought it was good and he loves us even more...how awesome is that?

"Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is life not more than food and the body more than clothing?" Matthew 6:25

So today was an awesome day (hubby was home and most of those days are pretty awesome...the kids always seem to behave a little better when he's home...ODD!) Anyways we had a blast and in the evening we went and picked blackberries on the way up to the mail box and I started to think about how awesome God is....first he gave me this perfect day, that and actually had me ME of all people comfort someone that wasn't having as good of a day, then he also has provided tons and tons of blackberries for our family. I mean tons, this year I have picked over 35 cups of blackberries and there are still more waiting to ripen...how awesome is that! With gas prices so high and generally all prices are going up, how cool is it that God has provided this yummy treat for us for FREE, well I guess we do have to deal with the thorns and ticks, but hey I'm game, I don't mind picking a few ticks off of me and getting prickled a few (okay maybe more than a few) times to get some berries!

The other cool thing is that Bella now say Blackberries, maybe not as clear as that, but i know what she's saying! Really if you look closely in your everyday life you will find blessings from the Lord wherever you are...some people like to call it coincidence, but i don't believe in that, I know EVERYTHING good happens for a reason and our creator is at the center of it all.

So look closely in your life and see what blessings God is giving you. Did someone open a door for you when your arms were full? Did a neighbor offer to have a play date when you are frazzled? Did someone smile and wave at you just when you thought no one cared? Look closely, God is everywhere!

One Sheet Box

Supplies:

Scor-pal or scoring tool

one sheet of 8.5 x10.5 card stock

strong adhesive

pretty paper and embellishments

stamp set of your choice

First: You will want to start your scoring on the 10.5 inch side and score at 1.5 , 4.5, 6 and 9 inches
Second: you will want to rotate your paper 90degrees so that it's on the 8.5 inch side. You will now want to score the card stock at 2 and 6.5 inches
Third: On the long side, you will want to cut the card stock on both sides to the 2 inch score line and from the other side to the 6.5 inch score mark...your paper should look like this when done!
Fourth: you will now want to fold the smaller flaps in (the 1st, 3rd and 5Th flap) and cut off half an inch on the 2 remaining (wider) middle flaps. Do this to both sides
Fifth: For this step you will just want to score at all the score marks and then add adhesive. Here is the order that I added adhesive. I first started with the 2 flaps closest to me, I folded them in and added adhesive on top. Next I kept the wider flaps open and added adhesive to he open side up. and last I closed the 3rd flaps and added adhesive just like the firsts (clear as mud right?)
Sixth: once you adhere the flaps this is what your box will look like!
Seventh: you will want to add adhesive only to the small top flaps...I used lots and you will want to use lots too...these little guys need to be strong since you want to open and close the box (do this to both top flaps and fold them to the inside of the box.) Your box is now finished! How cute is that! Now for embellishing...you can go as crazy or as simple as you want...I guess it depends on who you're giving it to!
Okay this is where the sneak peek and saying good bye comes in! I have used the NEW Bella Rose designer paper (isn't it just gorgeous!) and I have also used the Wild rose stamp set...this unfortunately is retiring and I just coordinates with the papers so well! I'm very bummed that it's going away!
I also used the new cool buttons that will be available August 11Th and the sentiment is from the Sock Monkey set (shame on me for not sharing more with that set!)
For the top of this box I used the Pink Pirouette 2008-09 In colors, shimmery white card stock (love the stuff) and some Hodge podge...which we will also be saying goodbye to soon! Some ribbon and some decorative scissors, inked the edges and stamped, cut out some flowers and called it a day! (I was sure hoping for some oval Nestabilities when I was cutting that oval out though!)
Thought you might want to see a close up of this pretty rose! Doesn't the Hodge Podge just look great? Hurry orders yours today! (mabieme1999@yahoo.com)

And here is look at the front of the box. I used the NEW SU! border punch to make the cool lip of the box and to add a little more detail I added little white dots with my Signo Gel Pen. The button is also new and I took some white grosgrain ribbon tied it in a knot and threaded it through the button holes to create a pull. I then punched a 1/4 inch hole through the box, threaded the ribbon and adhered it to the inside with strong adhesive.
And this is another look at the box...what do you think? Leave me a comment and let me know if you make one of these little guys, I would LOVE to check yours out!
Supplies:
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, pink pirouette, shimmery white, Bella rose designer paper
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Ridding Hood Red, Kiwi Kiss, Black Staz On
Stamps: Wild Rose, Sock Monkey
Embelishments: ribbon, Hodge Podge Hardware, buttons, scallop boarder punch, white gel pen

Tuesday's Teacher & Sneak Peek #3

Hi there...sorry about the late post...getting ready for a workshop (hey Laura!) Here is my Bible verve for the day:

"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there will be no more death, no more sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away." Revelation 21:4

So I really needed this verse after the day I had! LOL I actually had a great morning and early afternoon with the kids and really I'm just being whinny and complaining! They were great while I made dinner, but during and after bath I think they reached their breaking point...I might of pushed them a little hard today...LOL Anyways I Love what this verse tells us! I think that it's great knowing that all this will pass...just as anything else in our lives. It's all temporary! God WILL return one day and he will take us all to paradise where we won't have to worry about temper tantrums, refusing to potty train, wanting to be held all day long and throwing things at the walls!!! I just keep thinking of that in my head and really it all just fades away (God's promise and bed time sure are reassuring!) And then the still of the night comes and I look back and think that I didn't handle situations the way I should of, I was probably too harsh, or not stern enough...did I make a mistake, did I punish the wrong child? Am I showing how God loves me to my children? Man oh man, what a life we lead! I am so thankful that Jesus died on the cross for my sins because without His forgiveness I would be doomed forever!!! Thank you Lord Jesus that you have forgiven me and thank you for keeping your promise and returning to lead me and all those who love you home!

My prayer for you today is that you turn to God in your moment of need (whatever it might be, job loss, fighting with your spouse, injuries, pain, disease) and ask Him to come into you and help you, He is there, He just wants you to love Him a small portion of how much He loves you!

Sneak Peek #3

And now the moment you have all been waiting for! Here is another sneap peak...this sneak peek shows 2 cards...both made with the same 2 stamps sets, the same paper and the almost identical accessories...added glitter to the cupcake cards!

These cards are super simple, but I just LOVE how they turned out, I lvoed them so much that I already sent them on their way to theirt loving new homes! Can you believe it...these beauties are already gone!!!

Here is a closeup of the NEW scallop boarder punch and the heart. I sponged the edge with the Riding Hood Red and colored the heart with the same color...can you say LOVE IT!!!! The paper is from the NEW Bella Rose designer series paper...LOVE IT!!!
Here is the same card, but this time I used the cupcake from the monkey set and the wished from the Herd the Heard set...

I also used the Pink Pirouette and added dazzling diamonds to the top of the cupcake and candle...Gotta love a little shimmer!!!!

Seriously, these cards are identical but seve different purposes...great use of both sets if I do say so myself! But the BEST part is that they both took less than 10 minutes to make!

I might be a little partial, but I like the second one better, the paper bow is a little bit thinner and that appeals to me a little more!

Supplies:

Stamps: Herd from the Heards, Sock Monkey

Paper: Shimmery White, Bella Rose designer paper

Ink: Basic Black, pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red

Accessories: Scallop boarder punch, spong, aqua painter, 2 way glue pen, dazzling diamonds

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek! Come back tomorrow for more...I promise to post a little earlier in the day!!!

Sneak Peak #2

Hey there,
Here is another sneak peak for ya...Gotta Love New catty time!!!

This card is a suspension card made for today's TLC176 challenge on Splitcoaststampers. It was such a fun card to make! Learn how to make suspension cards Here!

So for Sneak Peek #2 I thought I would use a different set than yesterday...so you can get a full spectrum of pretties! Today I'm using Dream du Jour and the colors I'm using are Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red. I also used the new Bella Rose designer paper...good golly that paper is pretty! and of course the scalloped punch...I don't know if I'll be able to make a card without it for a while!
This is a close up [icture so you can get antsy over what images are in the set...LOL I actually stamped the butterfly on the Natural white cardstock and also on the kiwi kiss....this gives the illusion of motion once the butterfly is cut out...although I was hoping that the antenea would show, but they weren't juicy enough when I did the stamp off technique. Ohh well, But I do LOVE the new In-Colors!!!

Here is one picture showing one side of the suspenion...made an identical butterfly...pretty isn't it? I really enjoyed coloring these in! I used the good ol aqua painter and the squished lid of the ink pad...works like a charm!

This last picture shows the other side of the square...on my card I actually used linnen thread, but i think it works great...you can hardly see it anyways. I don't know how I'm going to give this card to, but I sure did enjoy making it...the new colors ROCK!!!

Thanks for stopping by! I will still be doing Tuesday's teacher on Tomorrow, but will be showing another sneak peek instead of a tutorial!

Happy Stampin'
