I've been Inspired!

Today's Inspiration Challenge 188- Chasing fireflies was inspired by the website Chasing Fireflies. Boy do they have some super cute things! When I clisked on the toys section the picture below is what I saw, I was totally inspired by the awesome colors! So I made a card using them!

This is my card here I really like how it turned out! I love the white shadowing and the pretty orange sun and even the pink background...but I just couldn't work the red in! Ohhh well I did get a tad bit of green and that wasn't even though that wasn't in the picture...it still looks cute!!! LOL

For ther flowers I simply stamped them in tempting turquiose and then went over them with a versamarker and covered in clear embossing powder and heat set. Then I punched a circle on a piece of scrap paper and a sponge to create the sun. Then placed the circle on top of my already orange circle and created the pink behind the flowers...very fun adn super easy card to make!

Thanks for looking!

Here is a list of things I used:

Supplies:
Stamps: Upsy Daisy by Stampin' Up!, sentiment is from a Little Paper Shop set called Endless Arrangements
Ink: Tempting turquoise, stazon black, pretty in pink, tangerine tango
Papers: Prett in pink, tangerine Tango, whisper white, naturals white, pink flamingo designer paper
Accessories: Pretties kit, 1 3/8 circle punch, sponge, versa marker, clear embossing powder, heat gun, certainly celery grosgrain ribbon, 1/8 inch circle punch, 1/2 inch circle punch

Thank you soo much for stopping by! One more day till I complete 7 days of challenges! YEAHHH!!!

Try a New Technique...

or TLC on Splitcoaststampers every monday! I love this challenge and love how it turned out! The cootie catcher is super easy to make and if you have forgotten and have a daughter in 4-6th grade you can ask them how to makr them! Hey they would probably even help you!
I acutally loved doing the Dahlia fold so much from last weeks TLC challenge that I made another one...using the same designer paper and everything...might just give this and last weeks card as a hostess gift for an upcoming workshop! The only stamp on this whole thing is the holidays and wishes set for the sentiment. Although I did use one of the pretty whinestone brads from the pretties kit (I'm trying NOT to hoard!)
I also used my nestabilities to make the scallop around rectangle...love those nestabilities!

I wanted to show you a close up of this ribbon...isn't it cute! One of my AWESOME downlines (Nikki) showed me how to curl ribbon a few months back and I have never been then same! Isn't it too cute? It isn't hard either...just get some dowel rods, wrap the ribbon around it and secire down (I used my ATG's adhesive) and then place it in the oven at 220 degrees and bake for 25 minutes remore and unwrap...super cool huh?
The best part is this works with any kind of ribbon...even organdy, and the sheers with dots!
Give it a try! you know you want to!
Her is the base all filled up with skittles (DS wanted to eat them but I laid down the law! LOL I think when I give it to someone I will try to get matching candies...would look soo cute with red, pink and silver hershey kisses...don'cha think?

and this is a little closer up of the base... I really wanted to show you the pretty scallops!
Thanks for stopping by!
