Tuesday's Teacher...on Wednesday!

Sorry about the delay...we actually had an AWESOME family day and by then end of it I was too tired to finish my project and created an AWESOME post! LOL so hre we are the midd day of Wednesday and I am just now getting around to Tuesday's teacher!

For I am the least of the apostles...1Corinthians 15:9

So for me this means that although Jeus came to earth to do MANY MANY MANY great things and to teach us how to live our lives (Since our boneheaded ancestors couldn't seem to follow the 10 commandments!) how to love one another and how to teach others about God, we are the ones that will keep his legacy going! It is up to each individual Christian to spread the word of God and to let our friends, co-workers, neighbors, lady on the bus next to us...whoever know that Jesus came to earth, died and rose again for our sins that that we may have eternal life with Him in heaven! Have you shared your faith today? Be a great apostle, share his love, be a Christian, but most importantly act like a christian so that Gods love may shine through you!

Coaster Pocket BooK
I put together a little pocket book so that I can send one of my friends a little book filled with different stamped images and punches shapes! I love how it turned out and am hopping you will too.
Supplies needed: designer paper, ribbon, eyelets, Crop-a-dial, cardstock (2 different colors) coasters, Modpodge, foam brush, stamps and ink, punches and several different images to add to the inside pockets!

1 piece of CardStock 4x6
4 pieces of Designer paper 4x6
4 pieces of Designer paper 4x4
2 pieces of ribbon 12 inches long each

The first thing you want to do is cover each side of your coasters with different papers so that the front and back covers look alike and the insides look alike as well! Once you have covered you coasters you will want to use some sand paper or sanding blocks and sand all the edges to make them rounded like the coasters. (I sually get the sides too! I'm too lazy to line it up exactly when I'm gluing!)

Once you are done sanding...your coasters should look like this and you are ready to move on to the next step! (some people choose to to add Modpodge to the outside of their books too, it is totally up to you!)

At this point you will wan to get the piece of 4x6 cardstock out and score it every 3/4 of an inch.

The longes you make your binding the more pages you can have...my book only holds 2 pages (front and back...4 pockets)

Once it is score you will wan to accordian fold it and adhere it to the coasters ( I used Modpodge to adhere it, but you can also use sticky strip)
While you are adhering the center binding, be sure to also add the ribbon for the closure!

This is the inside view of the book so far.

And this is the outside view! Doesn't it look pretty so far?

Nest step is to add the pages to the inside!

okay this is what you want your pages to look like! You will need to get the pieces of designer paper that measure 4x6 and score them at 2 inches

fold the small side up so that you have a little pocket.

then you will wan to adhere the sides closed.
Finally you want to round the corners...be sure to round the far opposite corners so that when they are back to back they will line up properly!

The next step is to add adhesive to the back of the pockets (I used my trusty ATG700) and add the pages to either side of the "mountain" inside the book...each side of the page will be on one side of the mountain...am I making any sense? do his for both pages!

And this is the inside pages all finished up...they even have die cuts and images in them for you to see! I love how this turned out and I hope the gal I give it to loves it too!

Monday's Mojo challenge!

This card is for todays Try a New TEchnique challenge done every Monday on www.splitcoaststampers.com Todays Technique was to create a card usuing the Dahlia fold instructions found here and then I went onto Julee Tilmans blod Poetic Artistry and used her Mojo Monday sketch but flipped it, and came up with this!
Very little stamping really, but I really enjoyed it and I think it looks pretty nice too!
For the paper I used cerice for last years SU! ctalog and used the 1 3/8th circle punch and then the Marvi Scallop punch to lay it all on added a square fire rhinestone brad to the center...for the background I used the heart from the stamp set Always and then sponed the edges after cutting the papers.
Stamped the sentiment, sponged it and layered it and called it done! I love how it turned out and the colors just speak LOVE to me!

Here is a little close up of the flower for you! It gives the card a lot of dimention and I really didn't think it needed anything else. I love the papers and the softness the sponging adds!
Supplies:
Stamps: Always
Paper: real red, chocolate chip, Very Vanilla, Cerise Desgner series
Ink: Real red, chocolate chip craft
Accessories: 1 3/8 circle punch, scallop punch, sponge, rhinestone brads (square fire)
Thanks for stopping by!

Sunday Festivities

So here are some pictures from Sunday! We went to another birthday party (Niece Olivia's 3rd Birthday! We made the paper once again and I actually remembered to get a picture of David stamping this time!

At fisrt he DID NOT want to stamp because he could not use HIS favorite color GREEN all over the present! But then I told him that he could stamp the leaves green and he warmed up to the idea!

Here is the present all finished up!

Supplies:

Stamps: Flower fest

Paper: White Wrapping paper, pixie pink, yo-yo yellow, whisper white

Ink: yo-yo yellow, pixie pink, green galore

Accessories: scallop punch, colluzzle, curling ribbon, scissors

The misplaced leaves are the loving work of David... I just love how much he enjoyes helping me!

And this is the Royal Backyardigan Pink Panther Pricess Olivia

This little girl is just too funny! When we got there she had to have everyone call her Pink Panther...and if you called her Olivia she would quickly correct you! Then she went upstairs and changed into a dress up dress and everyone called her princess (I think, but chacing my kids around I had trouble keeping up!) And when she is a Bachyardigan she is the infamous Niqua...also know as Uniqua... She is a lot of fun to be around and I am glad we got a chance to help her celebrate her 3rd birthday!

And here are a some pics of my kids at the party!

Here is Emelia in her pink princess outfit and playing "Pablo"...I just love those eyes!

And here is David... I have NO idea what he was doing with his party hat...maybe he was being penguin Pable too! Either way I thought it was a cute picture!

And not for my MOST favorite picture pf the night!!! Are you ready...I hope you are all sitting down!

Isn't this just too cute!!! I know SHE is wearing boy colors, but my mom just happened to LOVE this outfit and it was one of the only clean things I had for her...the rest were in the wash and would NOT be ready for the party, but I think it brings out the blue in her eyes...don't you? She loved wearing that hat... Didn't even mind that it was on her or try to take it off...I just love this little peanut...don't get me wrong I love my other nuts too!

Thanks for stopping by and reliving my weekend with me!

Birthdy Decor...Kid Style!

So today we went to Griffins house for his very fisrt ever Birthday party...that's right he turned the big 1 today...his AWESOME mom Nikki is one of my downlines and I just love her to pieces! She always makes the coolest things and goes above and beyond (her parties are NOT to miss!)

Anyways before we could get our train on the road we had to wrap the present (I was too late in thinking to get pictures of the kids stamping the paper...they were adorable!) , and in ordered to wrap the present we had to make it...cuz you know buy paper is for the non-crafty type...LOL just kidding i buy some wrapping paper on occasion...especially at Christmas...too many presents all at once! The kids LOVE to do crafts, so I had them help me "make" the paper and then they each made a card to go with it! One of David's favorite parts was tying on the ribbon (just look at the concentration!) before I curled it and Mela just loved to color ( as you can see in her picture...she's trying to show me the aweosme art work on her hands!) ...they are such awesome helpers!

Here is an upclose of the tag... I over stamped a little, but was too lazy to bring the adhesive upstairs so that I could stamp the image before attatching to the next layer...bad stamper..bad!!

And this is my SWEET little Bella...the whole time we were playing with ink, stamps, markers, paper, scissors (mommy only toy!) she just sat patiently and ate her little starts and chatted up a storm with us...she is the sweetest little thing!

I felt really bad, at the party I was getting the kids ready to leave and she was crawling on the flor (hardwood at NIkki's) and next thing I know she is screaming bloody murder, I think she little hand slipped and she bummped her lip...got her very fisrt fat lip! She was quite the trooper though, I picked her up and she snuggled me, found her thumg and was fine! Atta girl!

And this is the handsome little guy we were celebrating! Griffin! I can not believe that he's already 1...that means that Bella will be turning one soon and I am totally NOT ready for that!!!!

We had such a blast helping him celebrate and I am sooo glad that we are around to watch him grow up! Thanks for having us over Nikki, Eddie, Riley and little man Griffin!

And now the one you have all been waiting for! Nikki and I! Notice that I am standing on the right of her...not an odd place to be standing, but I am only standing on this side to hide a monstrous ZIT on my CHIN!!! I am 28 years old...why am I still getting ZITS???? hopefully they will go away in my 30's! I love Nikki, I love her creativity and her overall generous, kind, thoughtful personality...not to mention that she is just absolutely GORGEOUS!
I hope you all have enjoyed ALL of my pictures...even the ones that weren't about stamping!
Have a great day and as always,

Same Layout, Same Stamps, New Challenge

I just love doing this! I think it shows the dersatility of stamps and supplies! I wanted to show how this card would look both masculine and feminine. I loved how this one turned out, so I set off to try another one! The second came much easier and faster...since I already had the layout and stamps I wanted to use...colors were the next challenge! I also wanted to use some supplies that I hadn't gotten out in a while...this punch has been a little neglected and so I thought it would make a nice border for a boyish card. I had to add the ribbon, well because I'm addicted to ribbon (thanks Nikki!) and I had a scrap of it sitting on my desk from a different project...that I decided to toss! Anywho, I also added the same pattern for the hat (it looks so cute with a polka dot!) a little hole punching (Kinda hard to see I think) and we are in buisness!

Supplies:

Stamps: Older and Wiser, peaceful wishes
Ink: soft sky, blue bayou, wild wasabi
paper: soft sky, wild wasabi, blue bayou, watercolor paper
Accessories: spiral punch, 1/16th hand held punch, ribbon, crystal effects, aqua painter

Now for this card I went with more girly colors...I choose the colors because todays Limited Supplies challenge on SCS is to use only scraps to make your card, so this is what I came up with (but to be honest with you the card was already in the works, I just happened to be insink with Jen70! I really really love how this turtle came out in cameo coral with chocolate spots, and since this is a more girly card I wanted to use scallops instead of the spiral punch I still added crystal effect and did the paper piecing on the hat...although hard to tell with such a tiny little hat and pattern...but it's there!
So what do you think? neat idea huh?
Supplies:
Stamps: older and wiser, peaceful wishes
paper:chocolate chip, camoe coral, soft sky, watercolor paper
ink: same as paper plus stazon black and wild wasabi
accessories: 1/16th circle punch, 1/16th corner counder, sponge, aqua painter, ribbon
I think this might be a new challenge for me on Fridays...same stamps, same layout...different colors so I will name it SSMS01 (same same Mabie stampin) Wanna play? just make a card and either upload it to your blog or SCS gallery and send me link...it'll be fun! leave me a comment so I can go check out your work!
Thanks for stopping by!

I didn't win, but...

Both my card and my name are on this companies website! Here is a card I made a few months ago for a contest using this compabies ribbon. They had a grand opening contest and they sent you a piece of ribbon, you were then to create a card with the ribbon and mail it back to them, then they choose two projests to get a $30 gift certificate to their store and be a guess desinger for a month...so even though I didn't win, I'm stll happy that my card is in their gallery! Here is a link to my card over at Pink Hedgehog Paper Crafts They are having another contest soon...so you know I will be entering!!! Ohh they also have brads and eyelets in ALL SU! colors...especially made...how cool is that! Go check them out!

This stamp is an Olie and Olivia stamp that I got from the PIF (Pay It Foward) thread on Splitcoaststampers and I just think it's adorable! I made a mask for the sun set with an oval template and then used various SU! alphabets to stam the "Ahoy Matey!" The main image is actually stamped on water color paper and colored with SU! re-inkers and an aqua painter...thent o make the water look "watery" I added some crystal effects. I'm very please with how it turned out and am not sorry at all I didn't win! This year I will be taking more chances with my work and am pleased that I was mentioned on the website!!!

More clippies!

Okay so I had sooo much fun making these yesterday that I wanted to show you some that I had already made a while back...they are not only the clippie, but they are also a card and way to give them as a gift...don't you think they turned out cute? I will probably be making more Valentine's Day cliipies as I need some for the postal carrier (Cindy) and some for David's preschool teacher's and for my nephew's teachers... I know I'm an over achiever!!! So here is the crard/clippie up close...it was part of a swap for me!

Aren't these cute? Most of the supplies are retired from Su!, but I thought it would be cute to show you anyways! I used the word window punch to make a panel for the clip to slide into... I think that is how I will package the teachers slips too... I really like the added detail of the scallop in yesterdays clip...makes it look soo girly!

Tuesday's Teacher

Hi there...It's Tuesday once again...boy the week goes by sooo fast!!! Here is today's Verse for ya!

If we confess our sins, He is Faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

Wow, confessing our sins! I know this is a very heavy and scary topic to most...even me! I mean, I know I do things that aren't right, that are ...gasp...sinful and unrighteous, do I really want everyone else to know that I am a sinful person??? Do I want to admit to GOD that I have sinned, that I have done wrong in his eyes? Eventhough this is an extremely hard thing for people to do, I know that we must recognize the sin in our own lives, when we do, we forsake ourselves and seek redemption from our creator. We must acknowledge our complete reliance on the blood of Christ to cover ALL our sins. I am thankful that God forgives me of my sins when I have done wrong in his sight. I can appreciate that God can use any of my wrong decisions and my worngful doing and use it for His glory. I am grateful that all I have to do is ask for forgiveness. Have you asked God for forgiveness lately? Have you asked him into your life? Remember, tomorrow is not promissed, now is the time for salvation!

Today's tutorial goes out to Erin...Lova ya girl!

Jumbo paper clip bookmarks (AKA- clippies)

Here is what you will need for this project

- Jumbo paper clips (15 for 97cents at Walmart)
- coasters (light weight to go through your punches and die cut machines)
- craft ink or craft paint
- punches
- assortment of ribbon
- adhesive
- designer paper
- various cardstock colors

All supplies used are from Stampin' Up! Unless otherwise noted

You will want to start by punching 2 circles (1 3/8 inch) from the coasters (each coaster will give you 4 circles...enough for 2 clippies) you will now dip your clippies in craft paint (or paint them with craft paint) and set them aside to dry (this will give them a more finished look once you adhere them to the finished product).

While you wait for the circles to dry you will want to punch out your other shapes. I did 2 circles (1 3/8 inches) of designer paper, 2 scallop circles

Once your coaster circles have dried, you will want to adhere the designer paper to the side that is NOT inked...this is beneficial if you are not adding the scallop circle...looks soo polished!

But if you are adding the scalloped curcles...add them now! ;)Only a few more steps and you will be done...remember, you can make these as simple or complex as you want! But make sure you use a coaster for added support, these will be used as bookmarks, you want them to be sturdy!

Okay...now is where the questions usually begin...I DON"T usually use this type of adhesive, but the E-6000 has gone missing! Why don't I use this adhesive? Well it is just too slippery for me, and it takes too long to set for me...I'm an impatient, instant gratification girl!

You can also use a hot glue gun, this will speed up the dry time!

All you wanna do is set the petty sides down on the table...add a glop of adhesive in the center, place the giant paper clip in the glop and add the other pretty paper side up!

You will want both side to look like this! Youc an now start adding the pretty ribbons and any other embelishments you want!

For my project I stamped the images from the Always set in real red craft ink on shimmery white cardstock and then punched it out with the 1 1/4 inch punch...then I stamped the little flower in white craft ink on real red cardstock and punched that out with the 1/2 inch circle punch and adhered it with a dimentional for ...gasp...dimention!!! and your done!

You can add glitter...which I thought to add AFTER I had taken and uploaded the picture!!! but you get the idea!

And here is the finished project! ISn't it the cutest? I just love how they turn out! And for just 97cents for 15 clips, you got yourself a HUGE bargain! These make GREAT Valentine's Day Gifts for the kids teachers, along with some altered maiboxes, chocolate, and maybe a pen or notebook...who wouldn't LOVE this!!!

I hope you enjoyed the tutorial, if you have any questions, please let me know!

Here is a close up of the side...can you see all the dimention and what a difference the inked up coasters make? Have I mentioned that I love these???

So where do you get the lightweight coasters your wondering? Well it just so happens that I sell them!!! So if you need some, they are $7.55 for 50 lightweight coasters and that my friends INCLUDES shipping!!! E-mail me at: mabieme1999@yahoo.com if you would like some of these little beauties and I will mail them out asap!

Please let me know what you think of this tutorial! If you would like to make som clippies and upload them to your SCS gallery please use Keyword MSTT04, I wanna see too!

Here are some clips that I have made in the past that use other supplies...like my cuttlebug and stuff!

VSN on SCS

WHAT???? What do all those letters mean? (is this what you are asking too?) VSN is also known as Virtual Stamp Night and SCS as most of you are aware, is this awesome website http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ And it is going on this weekend...Well last night and today anyways! They usually have it every few months...what happens during VSN you might ask? Well it usually starts on a Friday night and every hour on the our (usually starting at 7pm) there is a challenge posted, to make a card or 3-d project...whats the catch you ask? YOu have to make your card in 45 minutes and then upload it to your SCS gallery...it is sooo much fun! Fridays are usually the *tailge* party and Saturdays the challenges start at noon and end at 11pm. And then each challenge hostess picks a winner and the winners get their cards placed in a special gallery FOREVER!!! It's pretty fun...although you do make a HUGE mess! Here are some of my cards from this past VSN...I got to play on Friday night some, but not on Saturday...BUMMER! VSN's usually have a theme and the theme this go round was *Girl's Night Out*
A little back Dress

I love this little card! The challenge was called *little black dress* and you had to make a card using your black cardstock...even for the mail panel! So I made this little cutey! Don't you just love this bird? It's from a set named *Always* and I think it's SUPERB... you will fefinately be seeing more projects with this set!!! I also used print pattern BG (to make it show up so nicely on the back cardstock, I used craft ink in pink passion...gotta LOVE the craft inks!!! for the main image, I actually stamped it with white craft ink and then embossed it with iridescen ice embossing powder, the sentiment was stamped with White craft ink as well! I'm really not too pleased with the ribbon (wish I had white) but this card NEEDED wide ribbon and this color was the only one that would even remotely do!)

Supplies:

Stamps: Always
Paper: basic black, pink passion
ink: pink passion craftm whispe white craft
accessories: ribbon, EP, heat gun
A shaped Card!
This card was for the inspiration challenge on Saturday. Here is some of the info on it!
Title: Little Black DressHostess: Jennifer (badger-girl)Keyword: JAN08VSNCDay/Date: Friday, January 18thTime: 8:00 PM EST
This was an inspiration challenge... Jennifer posted a picture of some shoes that she really liked and we had to make a card or project inspired by the shoes...it could be color, layout, shape...anything really! So this is what I made... I have really been into the shaped cards lately and I love love love how this one turned out...even the little bow I think is just perfect... off to the side just a tad... I wish they really did make this shoe, it would totally be mine!!!

Encouraging!!

I just lvoe this stamp set! It reminds me that there is not one thing that is impossible in this world if we just turn to God and ask Him with our whole heart to help us! He is not too busy for our smallest problems! He has no video games, blogs, dinners to cook, lauyndry to fold, shelves to dust! He is always there for us no matter what! What do we need to do to gain this awesome gift of undevided attention? All you have to do is ask HIm into your life, ask Him to be your personal Lord and Savior. Acknowledge that you are a sinner (just as I am) and as Him to forgive you...it's that simple! He lvoes you and wants you to love Him too!

So as you can see, God is our Refuge...just believe and He will strengthen you, just as He does me!

A Rak and some snow!

I got this GORGEOUS card from Amanda (tropicalichick on SCS) yesterday! What an awesome suprize! I absolutely LOVE love love this stamp set and I can tell she used the matching punch...lucky girl! I love the colors she used and the simplicity of the whole thing is just superbly beautiful! Yhanks Amanda for thinking of me! YOu can check out her blog here! Thanks for being my friend anc chatting with me on SCS, what fun times!!!
For those of you that might not know a RAK is a Random Act Of Kindness. And we just LOVE sending cards to each other. I can't wait to get my hands on this set...too cute!!!

Unfortunately I haven gotten a chance to stamp yet today, but it has been nice hanging out with the family and making chocolate chip cookies (andrew's Fav!)

Now for some snow pictures!

Here are my 3 sweeties all bundled up and ready to venture out into the cold cold snow (for those of you that don't know me so well, I hate hate hate the cold! I'm a Florida beach girl myself!) although I do like to go sledding from time to time! Maybe next year when Bella gets a little oder we will all go out...with a really good snowsuit that is!

So our poor sweet little Bella Didn't get to go outside...for many reasons...one she still has a cold, 2 no snow suit and 3 Mommy was making lunch and baking cookies!

I don't think she really liked how it felt on her hands, but she loved it when I put it in her mouth! Bella just turned 8 months yesterday and is crawling like a champ...and her second tooth is about to come through...What in the world! Pretty soon she'll be in college!!!

Here they are making snow balls and getting ready to through them at eachother! Aren't they adorableAndrew is the best Dad ever... I would be FREEZING out there...maybe I need a snow suit???

WOW looks at this little beauty! She is just becoming her own person these days. A super cute personality...very strong willed and sometimes I just wanna scream...God must be polishing me with her, I may have some rough edges that need to be worked on because she can really push some of my buttons sometimes! Patience it soooo hard to obtain!

Would you take a look at this handsome boy!!!! He is just such a sunshine and pleasure to be around (most of the time, I hope you don't think I have angel hildren, but I try to focus on the positive!) He has the best smile and the most contagious laugh. He's an amazinf helper and takes such pride in helping do his chores (yes, he does chores! I know he's only 3...almost 4, but you gotta start them yooung!! He vacuums his room and mops the entry...does a good job too!) Anyways, one look into those eyes and he just melts you! I love you soo much David!

They had such an awesome time out there and I am sooo happy that Daddy was home today so they wouldn't be asking me all day when they could go play in the snow!! I hope you have enjoyed our little family day! May God bless you and keep you safe!

Happy Stampin!

I love this card... I love the colors, the layout and the super cool edge at the top!!! GOtta love those corner rounders!!!
So I made this card to fit into 3 categories. First was the color challenge on SCS found here CC149 using Rose red, Appricot Appeal and sage Shadow... I really liked how this turned out!
Next was the Sketch challenge also on SCS found here SC159
And third but definately NOT least... I had to use my corner punch one more time to show you the cool effect you get without the corner guard and how awesome it looks on a card!
So here are my supplies..
Stamps: bothway blossoms (retired), refuge and strenght, weathered BG
Ink: stazon white, basic black, rose red, appricot appeal, sage shadow
paper: rose red, Appricot appeal, sage shadow, shimmery white... I know I use trhis a lot...but I just LOVE this stuff!!
Accessories: wrought iron punch, ticket corner punch, ribbon
Thats about all for that!
And Now I just have to tell you that I have the BESTTTTTT HUbby in the whole wide world! Wanna know why? Well he was off from work on Tuesday (firefighter...crazy schedule) and when he got home he fed the kids breakfast and let me have oatmeal and a nice cup of hot chocolate without ANY interuptions...then he said, "Hey hon, why don't you take Bella and go to the mall...use up that gift certificate and have fun! I'll keep the others!!!!" I had the BEST time I tell ya! And I had no one calling me, crying about a toy that the ther had, no changing a diaper every 20 minutes. It was absolutely DEVINE!!! Not to mention that I got some FABULOUS deals while I was out! I had a $100 gift certificate and I bout 20 items...thats right 20!!! And that included but not limited to, 4 shirts, a dress, 2 pillows and some presents for some birthdays that are comming up...I was very excited and returned home rejuvinated...Thanks Honey, you're the BEST!!!
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Stampin,
