Sneaky peaky Christmas Tags {10-1-09}

Today the Little Paper Shop is previewing one of their newest sets to be released on the 3rd of OCtober...which is also World card making day! YEAHHHH!!!! We are gearing up for the holidays here at Little Paper Shop, so this release is all about Christmas...gotta love it!

The set is called {Christmas Tags} and I think it's super cute! I opted to make a little tag with my tag set for this adorable box...I'll be using it as a gift for s friend here soon!

For this project I used some fun polkadotted paper and some real red cardstock that I punched all along the edges and then adhered to the DP. Simply tied a satin ribbon all around and added a pretty little tag...hahaha I just noticed that I didn't put on the scalloped circle like I had planned to! What is wrong with me?! hmm lack of sleep and worried about my hubby! that might be it!
I then stamped the inside sentiment on vanilla and used a 3/4 invh square punch to punch it out ona diagonal, sponged the edges and added more adhesive! I lvoe how it turned out though!
I still think it's super cute! Please stop by the Little Paper Shop Blog and leave a comment to be entered to wint thi awesome set!
BTW, I also made this for The Pink Elephant challenge #34 to use polkadots, punches, tags! Fun challenge!
Thanks sooo much for stopping by! Please stop by LPS BLOG to see what the other incredible designers have come up with!
Hugs and happy stampin'

October LPS Sneak Peek #5

If you like sentiments...and birthday sentiments at that, this is the set for you! It's called Make a Wish and it's by Little Paper Shop being released on October 14th. It's a large set measuring 4x6 and contains 10 sentiments! I love love love this font, I don't think I can get enough of it...good thing Julia loves it too!

I started by picking out my designer paper, I knew I wanted something bright and cheery, cuz who wants a drab birthday card!!! I knew I wanted to use wonderful wings...I've been cleaning out my stamp stack (a listing of sale items soon to come!) and I saw this set that I just absolutely love and seldome use...I knew it would be perfect for this birthday greetings set! So I inked the butterfly in Kiwi Kiss ink and then using my chocolate chip marker inked up some areas that i wasnted to be brown, I then breathed on it to help blend the colors and stamped it on shimmery white cardstock...I wish you could see this in real like...the shimmer is just amazing! I then used an aqua painter and some tangerine tango classic ink refil colored the butterfly ever so gently and then went in and added more hughlights.

The last thing to do to this butterfly before cutting was to stamp the sentiment. I choose "Make a Wish" because it just fit so perfectly within the butterfly. I saw the little tutorial on SCS Wednesday for the scallop medalion and I just had to try it...good thing I had a piece of paper that measured to the perfect size! I punched it out and added little white dots and then some eyelets...although once I added everyhing you can hardly see the medalion! ohh well such is life I guess!

So that's my card! What do you think? I love these colors!!! Now go and check out the Little Paper Shop Blog to see what all the lovely Divas have created! They do amazing work!!!

Tuesday's Teacher

It's Tuesday again... I can NOT believe how quickly the time goes by!!! Here is today's Bible verse:

There is no fear in love...1 John 4:18
Well, with Valentine's day fast approaching, I decided to choose this verse from the bible that speaks volumes in itself! This vere speaks to me in more ways than one. First, it reminds me of how I met my hubby and how I had sworn off men for them time being.. I said and I quote, " I am NOT going to be dating right now!!! I will be concentrating on school and work and that's it!!!" and lowe and behold I met my hubby a week later!" I had gotten out of a relationship that was troubled not long before that and I was affraid that it would happen again, therefore I swore off love! But to me love is not just about loving another person, although it does make the world a much better place! Love is also about loving your Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ! In todays society it is hard for people to seek, or understanding God's love. We are soo oppressed today by culter, society and sometimes even family to seek the love of God, to truly let yourself be open to His Glory and His goodness!
I know that for me I often fear telling other's about His love and the goodness and the freedom we feel through knowing God's love! But I love my neighbor, I love my friends and those I come in contact with, and most of all I love God and I am striving to live my life withou FEAR of what people might think or say of me if they know how I feel about Christ, the one that knew me before I was born, the creator of LOVE. So go and LOVE without fear today!
As you know I try to do a tutorial or product review each week when I do my Tuesday's teacher, last week I did a review, so this week I will be doing a tutorial. It is something that many people already know how to do, but it's always good to get a refresher course! So today's tutorial is:

Making scallops with the corner rounder and more!
To start the scallops remove the plastic corner guard...yes they come off! Just pull gently to the side and it will pop right off (don't worry you can put it right back in when you're done!!)
I like to flip my punch over so that I can see what I'm doing for this next part!
Start with your paper to the very edge of the punch (be sure to not go all the way over to the edge...look at arrow closely!) then punch!
For this next part you will need to move the paper to the right and line it up with the same edge!
The trick to this is making sure that there is always a little spot of overlap once it has been punched! I call it the black spot! If you look in the picute inside the little *square* there is no red in that spot, this will allow the punch to overlap and created a perfect scallop! To complet the row, you just keep on punching and moving the paper over.
Does this make sense?

Here are the finished scallops! What do you think? Easy peasy right? I also made a row of scallops with the slit punch so you couls see the size difference! You can make a decorative edge with any corner punch... I will show you another one tomorrow!

Here is the finished card!!! Isn't it pretty! Those scallops just add such a sweet danty touch! I love love love scallops!!!!
And the nice thing is that youc an make scallops or a decorative edge with ANY corner punch you already have! So go put those supplies to good use! Show me what you can make with your corner punches and upload them to SCS then leave me a comment with the link... I would love to see them! Be sure to use MSTT03.
