Just around the corner...

from our house is an awesome little restaurant...and I have been very neglectful about sharing some of our fun Island living! So I thought I would go ahead and share some fun things in our corner of heaven on earth! We get to the restaurant...we walked because it's less than a block from the house! It was a nice little stroll! LOL The kids love it and actually David rode his bike! (If you look on the left hand side of the pic, you'll see a moped and David's bike!) The name of the restaurant is Oinoysee...but all the Americans call it "The Pork Chop Place" because it has the BEST pork chops around! Anywho, we introduced ourselves to the owner and he said "Ohhh yes, you're my neighbors!" Who knew! His name is Nikko and he's the nicest guy!

The building was actually a residence built around the 1930 and was later converted into a restaurant in 2000. Great place, great food!
David's job at dinner was to pour the water for everyone...he took his job very seriously! One of my very favorite things to eat is Greek Salad...and this is one yummy example...sooo delish! I know your mouth is watering already, but wat till you see the pork chops!
My Salad is NOT cooperating! I want it after the Tatziki...but it won't move...so you'll have to drool in reverse! LOL This SUPER yummy bread is baked locally and is super to dip in the Tatziki...making me hungry again!Apperently my dinner wants to be seen in reverse...nothing is moving past the bread! LOL...don't these chops look sooo good? They smelled devine and the tenderness is like a dream! (If you like pork that is!)David Loves to try new foods...and old favorites to see where they are best! He loves octopus...I know he's 5...that kid just amazes me! And he gave this grilled octopus 2 thumbs up...although he tried my pork too and gave incredible reviews only a mother can understand through a full mouth! LOL
And this is the yummiest stuff in the world! Yummy Tatziki...made from Greek yougurt, cucumbers, olive oil, vinigar and a touch of salt and peper to taste...ohh sooo scrumptious!

So there you have it...some pics for you of our neighborhood...I have some pics to share with you of the girls...but since nothing was moving past the bread I just gave up! LOL So I'll have to post cute girl pictures in a few days!

I hope you all have a blessed day! Thank you so much for stopping by! And I promise to have a card for you tomorrow!!!

Happy Stampin'

And this is my card! I love the colors and this stamp set (Floral Frenzy) is JUST AMAZING TOO!!!I think this is a very nice layout...one that I'll probably use over and over again...but I really need a proper oval cutter...maybe some oval nestabilities are in my future!

For the main images I simple inked my stamp in riding hood red ink by Stampin' Up! and then stamped off on a scrap piece of paper and then stamped it on my main image panel. With the stamps being acrylic it's extremely easy to line them up for perfect placement everytime!!!

Supplies:
Stamps:Floral Frenzy By Little Paper Shop

Trey's Birthday card

We have a birthday party to go to this Saturday for a little boy who's turning 2! He loves cars and is having a cars themed birthday party...unfortunately I don't have any car stamps! So this is as good as it gets!

I loved Monday's grid Challenge so much that I had to make another card using the technique...if you haven't tried it you really really have to give it a whirl...super easy and a great look!

For today WT Challege we were to use two of somethig. Since it didn't matter what it was, I used 2 eyelets. I think this card turned out cute and I especially love all the silver glitter and how the rocket looks like it's taking off...and since the little boy I'm giving it to only has one speed...fast, this card is very appropriate! I think the grid and the embossed number panel really add a lot of texture and interest!

Supplies:

***all from Stampin' Up!

Stamps: wanted, pun fun, curvey verses

Ink: pacific pont, certainly celery, baja breeze

Paper: pacific point, basic black, baja breeze, certainly celery, whisper white

Acccessories: number CB embossing folder, glue, glitter, crop-a-dial, eyelets

Thank you so much for stopping by! YOU are truly a blessing to me and I thank you for helping to brighten my day!

Happy Stampin'

Silvia

P.S. May you be blessed and a blessing today!

PSS Stop by tomorrow for your chance to win some YUMMY candy!!!

Zuchini bread and card

This is my card for a few of this weeks challenges...I've been a little behind! Mondays challenge was this fun grid background, Tuesdays challenge was the color challenge, orchid opulence, barely banana, black, white, and going gray (I used it as his shadow!) and today's sketch challenge

I think it turned out pretty cute! The flamingo is from High Hopes Rubber stamps and the background swirls are from an SU! set called a Beautiful thing. And it also happens to be a good friend of mine's birthday...Judy over at Joy in a Jar...so go on over and wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Thankd for the fun sketch!!!

Supplies:
Stamps: A beautiful think by Stampin' Up, Flamingo by High Hopes
Ink: Staz on black, orchid opulance, barely banana, going gray
Paper: barely banana, orchid opulance, whisper white, basic black
Accessories: scallop punch, 1/16th in punch, gingham ribbon, markers, ruler

For church tonight I made a super yummy (IMO!) Zuchini bread...love it! I did some altering to the recipe, but I think it was good altering...can never have too much cinnamon or nutmeg!

Want the recipe? Here it is just for you!

3 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil (I used Olive oil)
2 cups white sugar
2 cups grated zucchini
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour (I used half white, half wheat)
3 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (I omited the nuts in case of allergies)

I also added nutmeg...didn't measure, just tossed it in there

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F ( 165 degrees C). Grease and flour two 8x4 inch loaf pans.
In a large bowl, beat eggs until light and frothy. Mix in oil and sugar. Stir in zucchini and vanilla. Combine flour, cinnamon, soda, baking powder, salt and nuts; stir into the egg mixture. Divide batter into prepared pans.
Bake for 60 to 70 minutes, or until done.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you enjoy the recipe and the card Happy Stampin' to all and may God Bless you always!

We're back from church and I had a chance to play while the kids were having quiet time...YEAHHH!!!! So I thought I would go ahead an play in todays challenge...FS127 Shirmcat! What a great gallery ...you can see it here! Be ready to be inspired!

Here is the link to the card I was inspired by, it's called Appels!
And my card is below...cute huh!

I used the same layout and a shade of blue, and I even cut out mmy iamges as she did. For the changes, I used patterned paper instead of a background stamp and I used an angel instead of a fruit image. Isn't my little Jena so sparkly?
Supplies:
Stamps: Angelic Jena by Little Paper Shop
Ink: stazon black, summer sun, kiwi kiss,
Paper:soft sky textured cardstock, whisper white, unkown DP from a friend
Accessories: scissors, versamarker, iridescent ice embossing powder, heat tool
This stamp set is called Angelic Jena and will be available on the 14th at http://www.littlepapershop.com/ but for now you can win this set by going to the Little Paper Shop Blog and leaving a comment.

Meet Jena...LPS sneak peek #1

Happy Sunday everyone!

I have a very special treat for you today! It's sneak peek one for Little Paper Shop release...this month we have 2 AWESOME must have sets! I think they are simply the cutests sets so far and I have several LPS stamp sets! You will not be disapointed!

Her name is Angelic Jena and I think she is just too sweet! It's a small set, but it comes with 3 sentiments...a starter set of you have never stamped or a great addition to any stampers stash!

Here is my card!
I didn't want my card to be too girly...so I opted for more neutral/boyish colors. I even like how I paper pieced the moon and stars...looks kinda neat I think!

Her dress was colored using reinkers and an aquapainter and her hair and highlighs were done using water color pencils and again the aqua painter.

Added a simple scallop and some scoring at the bottom and Voila! a done card! Of course I had to add some eyelets!opted to leave ribbon off since I was going for a more neutral card...so what do you think?

Supplies:
Stamps: Angelic Jena by Little Paper Shop
Ink: Stazon black, Baja Breeze
Paper: Baja Breeze, whisper white, SU! retired designer paper, always artichoke
Accessories: aqua painyer, crop-a-dial, eyelets, watercolor pencils, circle punches, scalloped edge punch

***Now I know you LOVE this set! well head on over to the Little Paper Shop blog and enter yourself for a chance to win this FREE set!!! One winner will be chosen at random from the comments***

Don't forget to stop by the other DT members blogs to see what they came up with. The samples are awesome!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Stampin'

I've been Inspired!

Today's Inspiration Challenge 188- Chasing fireflies was inspired by the website Chasing Fireflies. Boy do they have some super cute things! When I clisked on the toys section the picture below is what I saw, I was totally inspired by the awesome colors! So I made a card using them!

This is my card here I really like how it turned out! I love the white shadowing and the pretty orange sun and even the pink background...but I just couldn't work the red in! Ohhh well I did get a tad bit of green and that wasn't even though that wasn't in the picture...it still looks cute!!! LOL

For ther flowers I simply stamped them in tempting turquiose and then went over them with a versamarker and covered in clear embossing powder and heat set. Then I punched a circle on a piece of scrap paper and a sponge to create the sun. Then placed the circle on top of my already orange circle and created the pink behind the flowers...very fun adn super easy card to make!

Thanks for looking!

Here is a list of things I used:

Supplies:
Stamps: Upsy Daisy by Stampin' Up!, sentiment is from a Little Paper Shop set called Endless Arrangements
Ink: Tempting turquoise, stazon black, pretty in pink, tangerine tango
Papers: Prett in pink, tangerine Tango, whisper white, naturals white, pink flamingo designer paper
Accessories: Pretties kit, 1 3/8 circle punch, sponge, versa marker, clear embossing powder, heat gun, certainly celery grosgrain ribbon, 1/8 inch circle punch, 1/2 inch circle punch

Thank you soo much for stopping by! One more day till I complete 7 days of challenges! YEAHHH!!!

Happy Stampin'

These cards are for todays LSC228 Challenge Crop It! I think this card is super cute...the little girl is actually Katie from katie Cupcake by www.littlepapershop.com and I think she looks good without her cupcake! The sentiment is called Sweets and it's also by Little Paper ShopWhat do you think?

I really really like the buttons and the paper piercing in the corner...but I just don't know about the paper pierced candy...ohh well!
I have to run now...It's our 11 year anniversary of meeting (yup, we met 11 years ago today! Crazy the things we remember!) LOL and I have to go and spend some time with my sweet heart!!!
The challenge to use the buttons and paper piercing came from The Treehouse Stamps blog...go check them out...pretty cool stamps!!!

We have internet! And Happy 4th!!!

Bella Loved the fire works, just not how loud they were! Andrew my sweet husband made a different face every time I took a picture! Gotta love him! This year is the year of my best fireworks pictures...I don't remember them ever turning out this nice...and I always try!

Here's one of the fam enjoying the fireworks...it's not that chilly, but the kids enjoy wearing a coat from time to time...and since they aren't normally up when the weather gets colder at night...and it really wasn't even that cold, but compared to 90 degree days it was a bit chilly!

And I just had to share this awesome picture...we were able to use the whole water park to ourselves today...well when I say to ourselves I mean us and about 1ooo other nice people from the instalation here...so it was nice to celebrate independence day at the park...we swam, went down slided and jumped off diving boards. Ate hot dogs and hamburgers, yummy cake, dancing, tug of war, volley ball and of course ended the night with fireworks...a good time was had by all...and I just love this pic of Emelia that I had to share with you all!

Enjoy your 4th of July! May you always remember that freedom is not free and always remember the sacrifice that was given for you!
May God bless our troops always! And may we bless God with our respect and love...Jesus sacrificed himself for us as well!

I am back in buisness and am soooo happy to have internet back! I have been without a continuos connection since we moved out of our house of the 5th of January...it's now July for pete's sake! I can't believe that I'm typing to you from the comforts of my own home...not a hotel lobby or library somewhere...for a while there I was using my awesome new laptop in my car with the wifi fromt he library...that way I could keep the kids contained...LOL
Stay Safe and Happy Stampin'
