I made some stuff!!!!

I've been creating lots...just no time to upload! grrr...I guess with all the gorgeous weather outside...I don't want to be on the comp...but I MUST show you what I have made...it's just too cute and I love it!!! I have another card to show you, but it's buried in a HUGE SD card with over 1500 pictures...so I need to find it first! LOL

We went to a birthday party yesterday (little boy turning 1) and I already had a little shirt for him, but I wanted to add a little something to it. Andrew was napping and so were the kids, so I made a star book (Click here for Instructions, they were already made, so why re-invent the wheel with a tutorial?) They are very impressive and super cute! I also used my star punch and scor-pal to make the awesome 3-D stars for the cover. Colored the images with an inkpad and blender pen...gotta love me some blender pens!

And here is a picture of the book all opened up...pretty cool huh! One of my FAV albums to make...maybe I should try a mini one! I bet that would be super cute!!!

Made a super cute card to go with the book...love how it turned out and I used up a bunch of textured cardstock that has just been sitting there since it retired last year! I'm so bad at hoarding!!! The eyelets were the perfect touch and didn't make the card too bulky...and sinc eI didn't have the ink pads or refills anympre the always artichoke did the trick for the grass...not to bad!!!

And here is a picture of the whole ensamble...pretty cute if I do say so myself! I even made the bag! Instruction can be found here and here. I also added some of the left over white paper from the designer series paper to stregthen the bag handles...too cute! Of course it all had to match...plus I didn't have any boy bags...so I just had to make one! LOL gotta love matching paper packs!!!
Supplies:
Stamps: All from SU! Bundle of Jy, warmest regards, nursery necessities
Inks: Stazon black, baja breeze, creamy carmel, summer sun
Paper: wild wasabi, whisper white, buckaro blue, and manchester designer series paper
Accessories: star punch, scor-pal, blender pens, eyelets, crop-a-dial, 1 inch sheer cream ribbon, glitter, big shot, top note die, word window punch, dementionals...I think that's all! LOL I already gave it away and can't remember what else I used!
Anywho, I hope you like my little ensamble! Have a great day!
Hugs and happy Stampin'

Making Two Byrds with one Stone!

Today's Bible Verse...one of my faves!
" Love Suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself; is not puffed up; does not behave rudely; does not seek it's own; is not provoked; thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in truth; bears all things; believes all things; hopes all things; endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Many people love 1 Corinthians for many reasons...I think the most popular verse in there is 1 Corinthians 14:13, but I like to read back a few verses to see what the Lord is trying to tell us about true love. He is suffering everyday because He loves us sooo much and there are many in this world that deny Him. He is not envious that we lvoe the things of this world more than we love Him. He does not make himself seem greater than the world, in acutality He reminds us that we will most likely be pursecuted for our belief in Him.
One of the most powerful words in this verse for me is "bears all things" He really did bear it all for us, He paid the ultimate price by dying on the cross for us! But even before that He choose to come down from the heavens above to live on this earth with sinners so that we could one day be in heaven with Him. I love how this verse not only shows us His unchanging love for us, but it's also a model for how we should live our lives with our spouces. We should not look for their faults but look to praise them and lift them up. What do you like about this verse? Don't suffer anymore and don't make Him suffer anymore, turn to Him and walk in His ways, love Him as He loves you!
Engagement Party Signature Book
Todays project features a wedding gift for my SIL's sister. I love this girl and have watched her grow as a person for the last 10 years. She has a beautiful relationship with her Fiance (they have dated for the past 5 years) and I am sooo excited that they will finally be joining in marriage!
Here is the cover to this sweet little book, it measures 5 1/8 square and it is covered with Designer paper using Modge Podge. I then stamped the little birdies using Stazon Black ink and colored their beaks with pumpkin pie stampinwrite marker. If you look closely the little bird has a little rhinestone on her wing...hehehe I just couldn't help myself!
I created a Belly Band to close the book when everyone was done signing. I used Orchid Oplulance card stock and more of he unkown designer paper and some very vanilla for the monogram (I used the Olivia Cuttlebug Alphabet for the "B") Some circle rhinestones and the cober was done!

Here's a picture of the back opened up ...I used 2 CDLiterature Folders to create the book. The books are made of fiberboard and are pretty sturdy! I will be using these in the future to house my picture CD's from my Digital camera. If you would like some of these CD folders they are 10 for $5 plus shipping to you! That's only 50cents a pice!

In this picture you can see the fisrt page, I covered it with some designer paper and punched out the little tab incase she wanted to put some little memorabilia inside, in the orchid scallop I will be putting their saying...which is "Making two Byrds with one Stone" as you guessed their last name will be Byrd!

Here is one of the two pockets that the book will have...traditionally tis is where the CD's or DVD's would go, but I'm using it for tags in case we run out of writting room! I will also be taking pictures while at the party and then will save the pictures to a CD and give it to the Bride and Groom...I did this for my sister when she had a bridal shower and it was extremly well taken!

This little book might be small, but it packs a punch! There are 14 pages that can be witten on plus the 6 or so tags! What do you think? Would you like some of the CD folders? If so please e-mail me at mabieme1999@yahoo.com with CD Folders in the subject line! Again they come in sets of 10 and cost $5 plus shipping to you... shouldn't be too expensive and I will check exact price so you can get the most for your money!

Supplies:

Stamps: A little Birgy Told me, Together Forever

Ink: Stazon Black, river rock

Paper: Unkown wedding pack of designer paper, very vanilla and orchid Opulance

Accessories: Rhinestones, markers, scallop circle punch, 1 3/8 circle punch, Big Shot, Olivia Cuttlebug Alphabet, orchid Opulance ribbon, Silver grosgrain ribbon, 2 inch marvy scallop square punch

I also played in Angels challenge over at Angelosity... Her challenge today was to use a bird in your creation! Haven't check out her blog yet? You need to! Her loot is just amazing!!!...there's still time to be entered!

Tuesday's Teacher

Hello Ladies and gents! Sorry for the late post...the girls didn't want to go to sleep tonight! Mostly the little girl, so we stayed up and played for a bit and now she's OUT! Here is today's Bible verse.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians's 4:13

Ohh how I Love this Bible verse...Okay really there are many that strengthen me and lift me up and make me push harder, but this one really makes me want to strive and achieve ALL my goals...I have been using this verse in my head a lot lately...I have recently made a deal with myself...I'm going to be the healthiest, in the best shape of my life (it's really important for me to show the kids that it's good to be healthy and in shape...plus high cholesterol runs in my family and so I thought I would nip it in the bud before it starts!) So I have been working out a lot and when I feel like I can't push on any more, when I'm the sweatiest I have ever been and my heart is racing and I just can't go on I just repeat this verse in my head and I keep pushing through! I have joked with my husband that I'm going to stamp that verse on the garage wall, that way I can see it when I'm on the elliptical! H said go for it, but I haven't been brave enough yet...maybe soon though!

What is it that you need help pushing through? Are you having marital troubles? Are you facing a tough decision? Or is it hard for you to just simply get out of bed in the morning? (Depression is a real disease!) If you need me to pray for you, please ask, send me an e-mail I will be more than happy to pray for you! Also get this verse in your head...Jesus Loves you, he wants you to succeed and we can do all things through Him. He knows us, he knows our needs, our struggles and He wants to help us...ask Him!

I used to have the hardest time praying, I used to think that you had to have fancy words and fancy prayers in order for God to hear me, guess what? God just wants you to talk to Him, I have had the best talks with God...sometimes I think I'm just blabbering on and on, but God is there, just like any friend, He wants a relationship with you and He wants to strengthen you. Have you talked with God today? Have you asked Him to help you through all things?

Today's Tutorial

Workout Journal
Supplies: Bind-it all, or other binding system/method

-binding coils
-2 pieces of 4 x 8 in. Illustration board, or chipboard
-modpodge, or other strong paper adhesive
-foam brushes
-2 pieces of 4 x 8 in. of Designer paper (here Berry Bliss, retiring August 10Th)
-2 pieces of 1.5 x 8 in. of black card stock
-Stamps or focal image (here I used a Stampingbella Image that was given to my by and SCS friend, thank you!)
-1/16Th inch circle punch
-scraps of card stock to layer on the stamped image
- Lots and lots of pretty matching ribbons!
The first step is to add your adhesive to the back of the designer paper and adhere it to the illustration board or chipboard. The paper will curl or bubble a bit, but it will smooth out as it dries!
You will then punch the scallops in the black strip with the scallop boarder punch (available August 11Th) and then punch the circles using the hand held circle punch. Adhere the strips over the designer paper and add modpodge over entire surface (this will protect the paper from any accidental spills or dripped sweat...LOL)
Color the stamped image and adhere it and all layers on the book cover and add another layer or modpodge.
In this step, I also stamped the title of my journal...a little hint is to start from the last letter and work your way in, this way you always have enough room for all the letters!
Here I am punching the inside pages of my journal (I made mine out of computer copy paper that I cut to 7 7/8 x 3 7/8, just slightly smaller than the cover) To punch the holes, I am lining up and edge with the Bind-it all and then moving it in a tiny bit...since the pages are a tad bit shorter than the cover!

For the cover, I just inserted the page flush with the machine on the left and punched, then moved the cover all the way to the other side and placed it flush with the Bind-it all on the right and punched again...this way I knew that the top and bottom would be perfectly spaced!
To make sure that the book looks a bit more professional, you will want to make a sandwich before you add the coils.

This is how I start...back cover, front cover.

Lay the front cover on top of the back cover, then add the pages on top of the front cover
You will want to feed the coils from the top of the sandwich all the way through. Do this for both sets of holes.

Put it through the Bind-it all to squeeze them shut...
and
Voila! One super professional bound book...the squeezed part is now on the inside of the book, so when you close it all you see is nicely rounded coils! Just like the journals you buy at any store!

And this is the finished project! I added a bunch of ribbons and I colored in the image...Pretty in pink pants with pink passion polka dots to match her pink passion bar bells and sweat wrist bands!

I hope to use this book for many months to come...I think I put in enough pages to last me all year...I am writing several entries on each page...Plus my friend sent me a bunch of images, so I can have a new one each year!

What do you think? Do you like it? Don't you just want one of your very own???

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you liked and are encouraged by today's Bible verse!

Tuesday's Teacher

Good day everyone! I am back...I bet you didn't think I was gonna post today! HAHAHA I have been busy working on a(what I think) is a fabulous project to share with you all today, but first a Bible verse to get you to ponder!

I can do all things through Chirst who Strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

I have really been feeling, loving and just going through each day repeating this verse in my head whenever things are going particularly hard at the moment. When the kids are arguing, when I have 4 loads of laundry and no clean under garments to wear, when it's dinner time and I have nothing unfrozen to fix, when I'm working out and I want to quit, when there is an arguement with a friend or sibling(fue and far between thank GOD!) I believe that God can strengthen me and make me a better person if only I will let him, but this verse has really helped me the most when I'm working out! I sometimes feel that I just want to give up and quit...the workout is not worth all the pain and sweat (YUCK, who wants to sweat?) ...then I remember that verse and I just keep on truckin! I told my sweet DH that I was going to stamp it on the wall of the garage so that I will NEVER give up! I am taking this verse to one of the lightest subjects and areas that you might use this verse for, but it will help you through anything, just knowing that God is there for you through thick and thin really makes things better! Can you trust Him to help you today? Do you believe that He can strengthen you? Pray to Him and ask Him into your heart so that you can do ALL things through and for Him!

Baby Book Tutorial

I made this book for a gal that is having a baby shower in a couple of weeks...Look at me NOT waiting till last minute!! LOL

Here is a quick list of supplies:

Card stock: various colors

designer paper of choise

ink

stamps

strong adhesive

paper trimmer

optional supplies

oderless mineral spirits, blending stump, water color paper, water color pencils and embelishments

In this step you ar scoring both sheets of cardstock that you cut to 4.25x11 at the 3inch 5.5 inch and 8 inch marks.

YOu will want to scire both sheets of paper so that they both make *W* shapes (the inside flaps will be shorter than the middle most and outside flaps)

So this is how I colored my image with my water color pencils... just around the edges so that I can use the mineral spirits to shade in the rest...I hope I'm doing this right!
This was my first attempt at coloring an image with colored pencils and oderless mineral spirits, I like how it turned out and I will definatly try it again! I got the mineral spirits are Micheals with a 55% off coupon so they were only a couple bucks...TOO cool! Plus i just love this stamp set!

In this picture I'm just showing you where to adhere the two pieces together. You will have the book parts of the book bound together once this step is done.

Once you have adhered the two flaps together, youw ill want to cut slits in the shorter cener pages. To do this simple align the score mark with the cutting groove in your cutter and use the ruler on the cuter to measure 1 inch from the top and 1 inch from the bottom...the little arrows in the orange blade shows where you are cutting to.

The Next thing to do is to create the pull tabs...you will want it to be a little tller on the inside so that the tabs don't pull out all the way. My whole tab is about 3.5 inches tall and then I cut about 1/4 inch from top and bottom to form the flaps...but that was just eyeballing it

YOu will now want to insert the pull flaps in through the back, it will look like this.

And this is the front...easy enough right?

Once you have added the pull out pages you will want to secure the backs closed. Add some glue to the outsides od the mountains as picutes (ONLY TO THE OUTSIDES) if you add too much glue then the pabs won't pull out! Secute them closed and you have yourself a little book!

Then you can start embelishing! I added a picture of the excited parents to the inside cover (they sent this to me with the invitation to the baby shower, but you can ask then for one or take one yourself!) I added the cardstock and designer paper to make it all look purty!

I added pull tabs to both of the pull out sections and one has a place to put all the babies info on it...name date etc. of the birth. I figured if she wants she can add the time and date of th shower to the other pull out tab or write a special message to the baby!

And here she is all complete and ready to go! I added some glitter and pearls and purty ribbon and of course some hodge podge. This is a small book so don't get too excited, but it's perfect if she wants to keep it in her purse of give it to her Mom with pictures of the baby or soemthing... I thought it was cute...so I made it...LOL

This is another view of the book. I just wanted to show you all the depth and dimention this book has...I loved making it and hope that you make one too!
Here are the stamps sets and accessories I used:
Carstock:Pretty in pink, certainly celery, chocolate chip
Ink: pretty ink pink, chocolate chip
Accessories: Hodge podge hardware, pretties kit, celery organdy ribbon, chocolate taffeta ribbon, oderless mineral spirits, blending stupm, key tag punch.
Please let me know if you have any questions! Thanks for stopping by!
P.S. This also fits todays challenge on splitcoast...the color challenge to use the above mentioned colors!
