I'm Back... With a verse and tutorial

So the babes are now sleeping, laundry is going and hubby is studying for an upcoming EMT test. I have completed my project, taken pictures and waiting for them to upload to my computer so that I can resize and add my watermark then finally add them here! Again, I appologize for the delay, Mela seems to be feeling better, but I know the evening can get a little rough!

With Valentine's Day just passed, I though this might be a good verse to keep the love going!

You shall love your neighbor as yourself. Matthew 22:39

I know this is sometimes hard for me to do, but who am I to judge others? In order to love God the way he loves me I need to love everyone, God loves me no matter what my faults might be and I need to do the same for others! How else am I to demonstrate the love of God to others if I have animocity towards them? How am I to show my children how much God loves us if I don't show God's love through my actions towards others? God put us here on earth so that we may show his love for us, but do we do that for everyone else? I might not like what someone is doing, or what they are wearing, but I am no one to be criticizing others. I know God loves me, and I love who God made me, so I should love others in the very same way!

These are my thoughts and opinions, I am not a theologan and am just putting my thoughts out there. Thank you soo much for reading my thoughts!

Tutorial Time

Today we are going to be using a very simple and inexpensive piece of office supply to create a very pretty photo holder, thank you gift, center piece, wedding shower/baby shower gift...anything really, the possibilities are endless!

The supplies:

Adhesive (I used my ATG 700), binder clip, Stampin' Write Marker, 2x3.25 piece of designer paper, white grosgrain ribbon, cardstock, various stamp sets, ink of desired colors.

Your first step will be to cut your designer paper to 2x3 1/4 inches. YOu will then want to add adhesive to the back of your designer paper. (you can also run it through your xyron machine, makes the project easier if you are working with young children!) Once you have added your choice of adhesive you will start to wrap it around the binder clip, ( I start by slipping the paper under the curved ridge, this will make the clip look really nice and crisp)

Now that your clip is nicely covered, you will want to add ribbon at the top so that you can insert a photo, or a stamped images or sentiment. This makes a perfect baby shower gift because the guest can take it home and once the baby is born you can send photos to be added to the other side!

On my clip, I used white grosgrain ribbon that I colored the dges to make a stipped ribbon. I simply used my certainly celery marker and colored along the raised sides of the ribbon and Voila! I love how this looks and the fact that I can get 48 different colors of ribbon from one spool and a set of markers!

So what's left? Well the last part of your project is to simple find the stamps you wan to use to create a topper (unless you're putting a 4x6 photo on this that is!)
I started mine with a piece of certainly celery cardstock that measures 3.5x2.75 and then matted it with a piece of goovey guava that measured 3.25x2.5 for some contrast. For the focal image I used a piece of whisper white hat measures 3 1/8 x 2 3/8 and stamped the polkadots from Polka Dots and paisley set in certainly celery. I then stamped the Thank you very much in Stazon black from the much appreciated set right under the polkadots.

To finish off the project I just stamped the main sentiment from God's Blessings right over the polkadots and adhered it to the other 2 layers, slipped in between the brackets on the clip and called it a day! So, what do you think? Super cute huh? I would lvoe to see what awesome creations you all come up with! When you make your own binder clips and post them on your blog or web gallery be sure to come back here and leave me a comment so that Ic an check them out too! When uploading them to SCS please use Keyword TTMS04 so that we can all check them out!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Stampin'
