Featured Stamper!

Sundays is Featured Stamper Challenge days...it's a challenge where we are to go and look at a certain stampers gallery and then make a card using the inspiration found there!
Todays Featured Stamper is Terrore3, you can find her SCS gallery Here and her personal blog here. She has some amazing cards and projects and I was just very excited to be able to make a card today...again not a challenge I usually get to do!

This is the card that Inspired me today... I love the simplicity of it. I also like that I didn't have much time to stamp and was able to get a card done and have it look so cute so quickly!
This is my take on the card! I opted for a colored background instead of the white she used and then I used a different stamp set and different designer paper, I also choose to add a ribbon to the designer paper section and I also did some embossing using my Scor-pal and then added little dots using my chocolate chip marker! So that's about it! Here is my list of what you'll need!
Supplies:
Stamps: Older and Wiser (retired SU! set)
Ink: stazon timber brown
paper: Tangerine Tango, Papaya designer series paper
accessories: chocolate chip twill ribbon
Thats about it! I hope you like my card!
Thanks for stopping by and what a great challenge this was!

It's my Birthday!

Yup, today I turned 29...and although I had HUGE plans for this weekend...God had other plans for me! I was supposed to go up to my parents (they live an hour away) Friday night and once the kids went to bed my sister and I were to go see Nights In Rodanthe...but alas those plan failed. Mela our oldest girl got sick and released her dinner all over the car seat on the way back from taking David to pre-school only a couple miles away...so we stayed home instead!
This is my sweet angel David...he's 4.5 but a gentelman in training! When he woke up this mornin he snuggled in with me in our bed and just started talking and chatting as nirmal and then he remembered on his own that it was my birthday and just started singing...then he got up and told me to stay in bed and he would call me whem he was ready. So he finally called me into the kitchen and this is what he had to show me!

Yup...He decorated the kitchen for my birthday! Pink is my fav color and so he got the pink streamers, his scissors and some tape and went to town...okay so maybe the ones on the chandelier werent there, he asked me to put those up because he couldn't reach...Ohhh my kids just melt my heart...he seriously made me cry with joy today!
What a birthday it turned out to be! Hubby (thats a picture of hubby and oldest DD Mela above...isn't he just the most handsome thing!) got home and made us breakfast and then baked me a super moist super yummy chocolate cake...and then he made me the BEST steak I have ever eaten, and I used to work at a steak house! He also made me my fav...sweet potatoes baked in the oven and baked beans...let me tell you he spoiled me!
I have been having some issues with my shoulder, back and neck and the sweet man got me a gift certificate for a one hour massage...I can not wait to use that bad boy!!! I also got the warmest coziest micro fleece blanket to put on our bed...LOVE IT!!!

Here is a picture of me and the girls...Bella is such a hoot! She lunged foward at the last second and made the cutest face! I can not believe she is such a comedian already!

And then last week I sold my beloved cuttlebug so that I could save the money and get a SU! BigShot and wouldn't you know it that 2 of my friends chipped in and got me the rest of the money I needed to get it! (Thanks Nikki and Danielle, you girls rock!) So I will be ordering it on Oct. 1st!!!

My In-laws are treating me to lunch tomorrow and I think my sister is coming down tomorrow afternoon...so I think this is turning out to be a FANTASTIC birthday!

Ohh and I got to stamp!
I made 3 cards and a super cute box...although I can't show you the box just yet I will show you one of the cards I made! It was for the IC147 on SCS...I don't usually have time on Saturdays to get the challenge done since we usually go to church on the days hubby is off, but this was a nice change for me. I love love love how this card turned out. I actually combined some challenges...not only the challenge for today, but also Thursdays challenge to add a charm to your card/project.
This is the inside fo the card...just trying some new things out and I really like extending the design of the card to the inside!
Thanks for looking!
Supplies:
Stamps: Beautiful thing
Ink: Old Olive, certainly celery, pumpkin pie, stazon black
Paper: Old Olive, natural white, basic black, DS paper
Accessores: Punches (circles and ky tag) rhinestones, Stamp-a-majog (thanks Kathy...worked like a charm!) ribbon, charm
Have a stamp happy day!

Another LSC card

So I was browsing through the LSC187 gallery and I just HAD to stamp another card...I love , LOVE how this turned out...I know it's simple but I just love how the little lamb, sheep signifies purity and how Jesus is Pure and how he walked on this earth to show us His love for us and how we should share our love for others...So there you have it, that's why I choose to use this sweet little lamb from Pun fun for another LSC card...isn't it just the cutest! Might have to make a bunch more of these...super fun and super cute!

I wasn't going to use any ribbon, although the challenge allows for it, but I made a boo boo and you could see where it said *Thank Ewe* so I used my ribbon to cover it up...no need to worry...no one will ever know...except for you all of course, and Iknow you won't tell a soul!

Supplies:

Stamps: Pun Fun, Snow Swirled

Paper: ridding hood red, shimmery white, soft sky, Designer paper

Ink: riding hood red, baja breeze, stazon black

Accessories: chocolate polu twill ribbon, aqua painter, re-inker

Paper Tey Ink Blog Hop

Welcome to the Paper Trey Ink September Blog Hop!

This is my first time ever participating in the Paper Trey Ink Blog Hop, but I am totally pleased with my projects (although it was a bit hard to photo) so I figured why not, right?!?!!
I started my project by recycling something that most people just overlook...you find them in abundance on the streets and anywhere people drink really...it's a bottle cap, I found it on the street the other day, it was just sitting there all by it's little lonesome calling my name and asking to be used! It's a twist top so it wasn't deformed in any way and the logo had worn off so I don't know what kind of drink it had once protected, but I thought Hey I can do something with this! So in my pocket it went until I got home!
It stayed in my craft room for about a week until hubby brought home some epoxy to seal a hole and I asked him if I could just use the rest of it when he was done! So off I went with my bottle cap and sanded it and then spray painted it with Rustolium Teal spray paint...this stuff says it's quick drying, but I must be the most impatient person in the world cuz I kept messing it up and smudging it! Hubby doesn't so much like it when I spray paint things because I end up leaving my mark behind on the gravel driveway...there has to be a less messy way of doing this, but i was too lazy to drag out the newspaper!
I sprayed both sides of the bottle cap and then waited until it dreied...I took a piece of shimmery Vanilla Cardstock and used my 1 inch circle punch (it's the perfect size for bottle caps!) I then stamped the snowflake image in the center using tempting turquoise classic ink (I know you don't see a snowflake, when I added the epoxy it disolved the ink...so be sure to use a permanent, not water based ink)
Next I stamped the Holiday Cheer with stazon black ink and Glued it to the inside of the bottle cap. (before I started the process I used an ALL and hammer and made tiny holes so that I could thread some jewlery wire and make a loop) I added glitter to what I thought were the appropriate spots and then snowflake and dumped out the acess. I then mixed my two part epoxy and added it to the bottlecap...thats when my snowflake started to disapear...I thought my project was ruined...but alas I got a brillian idea once the epoxy had dried! I thought, Hey I'll add snowflakes to the hardened eopxy! So I got out my white stazon ink and stamped right on top...makes the whole project really neat and adds that 3-D effect! I love it!
To this I added a charm I had picked up a while back at A.C. Moore (it was on clearance) the sentiment was perfect because in todays world or rush rush rush I still believe in Holiday Cheer...Don't you?
So I added a few more snowflakes to the back with the white Stazon ink and another sentiment...now the necklace is double sided and you can choose which side to wear out! Neat huh? I finirshed the necklace by threading the bottle cap onto a piece of organdy ribbon and stringing some spacer beads to that... I still need to add a clasp, but all I had at home were gold and I don't think that will look good!

So now you have a perfect little gift for someone that wasn't very expensive and got some trash off the ground!

So here is a little card to add to the necklace...perfect little ensemble (please excuse the picture, I must of taken at least 30 and nothing came out!) The card measures 2 inches by 1 3/4 inches. I siply stamped 3 snowflakes with taken with teal ink and added glitter, stamped the holiday cheer right above inked scallops. The same organdy ribbon and another charm finish off the card...I hope you liked my project! You can view the rest of the participating blogs HERE.

Supplies:

Stamps: Holiday Treats by PTI

Ink: Taken with Teal, black stazon, white stazon

Paper: Shimmery white, shimmery vanilla

Accessories: Bottle cap, 2 part epoxy, glitter, sponge, 1 inch circle punch, charms spacer beads, sheer organdy ribbon, spray paint, patience!

Color Skteches and family fun!

So I made a card today for the color challenge for yesterday and the Sketch challenge for today. I'm a little daunted by the large sized panels, but iIthink the card tunned out okay! I love the colors though and definately plan on using them again soon!

I don't know about both of those back panels being Kiwi kiss, maybe I should of done the one behind the main image in baja for a more eye catching effect, but whats done is done I guess! I stamped the calander in Baja and I do like that, then I just wrote in the numbers and stamped a little symbol over my friends birthday...I hope she likes it!

Supplies:
Stamps: Mark the Date. Defining alphabet
Ink: Stazon Black, kiwi kiss, Baja Breeze
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Very vanilla
Accessories: organdy and grosgrian ribbon

And now for some family pics...it's been a while since I shared any photos of the kids, so here goes nothing! Today we decided to collect some acorns...and collect we did! I decided after we had collected a bunch of them that we would incorporate this into a math lesson/homeschool type thing (since I'll be homeschooling when we move I figured I would give it a go and see how it went!) Anywho, we collected and collected and collected some more! Then we dumped them all into this discus sled that we have and I had the kids try and guess how many acorns we had collected! Once we had all guessed we counted them by tens...a lot of tens!!! We have 580 acorns...our goal is to collect 1000...so we are more than half way there! LOL After we counted we got 2 cups (one small and one big) and tried to guess how many small and large cups it would take to fill up a sand bucket of acorns (working on predictions counts for science too! LOL) I can not believe that we spent a whole afternoon surrounded with activities with acorns! We had a blast, we were outdoors, we were learning and it was all FREE!

Once we did all our school work we played some games. We worked on our hand eye coordination. Then we played tossing games, first we had to get it in the buckets closest to us, once we got it in that bucket we moved on to the next one until we got an acorn in all 4 buckets...the kids had a blast and so did I...watch out squirels we there are other nut lovers in town!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you liked my card and my little ramblings!

LPS Release and an MRI

So today is the release of 4 FABULOUS set by Little Paper Shop and you don'twant to miss it! They are having FREE shipping on any order 20 and over...So go ahead and place your order...you know you want to!

And now for the MRI...so I have been having this funny pain in my left arm and it sends tingles down my arm and into my fingers...so the docs gave me some meds (prednisone) to see if it would take the pain away (more like annoying more than painful) and it didn't work...so they did a bunch of test and the good news is I don't have Lymes desiece or blood clots or any other virous that might cause the pain...bad new is they don't know what's wrong with me! So I have to go in for an MRI to see what they can see and next week I have to go and see a Neurologist...So unfortunately I won't have my Tuesday's Teacher posted today...but PLEASE do pray for me and that there is nothing seriously wrong!

My MRI is at 1pm today and I will just be hanging out with the family this morning while I wait for the appointment!

Thanks for stopping by!

Little Paper Shop Sneak Peak #3

Hello ladies...and gents if you're out there! Just wanted to share another set that will be released tomorrow at the Little Paper Shop (that's Sept 23rd!) This set is super fab and it is extremely versatile...not to mention the sentiment is just absolutely darling! Julia, you really outdid yourself this time!

This 1st card is my fav...I absolutely LOVE one layer cards...why I do not know...I guess miss JulieHRR really rubbed off on me when I first joined SCS...Hi Julie! Anywho, when I saw the set I knew I just had to make a one layer card! I used a versamark pad and then covered it with clear embossing powder and then heat set it. The rest is super simple, just ink up a wedge of sponge with Baja Breeze classic ink and sponge in a circular outward motiob until desired effect is complete...tie a white organy ribbon across the top and the sentiment in the same color ink and you are good to go! That easy! Now all I have to do is make another 99 of these bad boys and my Christmas card will be done! LOL

This next card is a little more "Christmasy" Because of the colors. I like the layout and the images, although I had a hard time trying to figure out how I wanted the holly to go...did I want them all to go int he same direction, did I want to alternate, so many choices! I stamped the images using my Stampin' Write Markers and then added crystal effects to the leaves and red micro beads to the berries...the texture is really cool! I embossed the base of the card using the swirls embossing folder and then stamped the sentiment. My fav part of this card is how the ribbon ties off to the side (this is way out of my comfort zone because I like everything to stay within the parameters of the card...what if it doesn't fit in the envelope is always my thing! LOL

If you like any of these sets that are being released be sure to check out www.littlepapershop.blogspot.com for your chance to win a set of your own for FREE! Tell them I sent ya!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Project and an Announcement!

Okay I wanted to share with you a project I have been working on for the past week or so! And I have an annoucenemt after I share with you the pictures and details of my project!

Here is a Close up of my little project! I started by giving the whole canvas (it measured 3 7/8 x 7 7/8ths) a wash with my Pacific Point ink refill and aqua painter. Once I had established the color I wanted I went over to my heat gun and set the color...because I was too impatient to wait for it to dry!!! I then stamped the snow globe image with black stazon ink and added the Nothp pole and the little house also with black stazon ink. Once I had colored the house like I wanted (I used Kiwi kiss and riding hood red for the house and door, also with my refills and aqua painter and again heat set) I went ahead and used my Versamark pen and colored the inside of theglobe with it and then added glitter to the entire thing (the Versamarker helped the glitter stick) and then I added liquid applique to the rooftops and ground and heat set that to make it poofy!

Now for the hard part! The Crystal Effects! You have to be carful when adding this to the globe because you don't want to add so much that it runs over, but you don't want to add too little and then it doesn't cover well...so here is my tip...add a little at a time...start in the middle and work your way our slowly so that you give it enough time to dry...I kept adding, it took me about 3 days to get it just as I wanted it...anothr trick is to walk away from it and don't keep messing with it!!! YOu can also heat set just a tad to get the drying started it and it doesn't overflow, but only for a few seconds otherwise it bubbles!

Here is a closeup of the sentiment... Do you like the white glittery snowflakes with the seed beads in the middle? I love all the sparkly glitter too! I stamped the snowflakes directly onto the canvas using white craft ink ad then added the glitter while the ink was still wet...added some mono multi glue to the center of the snowflakes and then the beads (I have had these beads for a couple years and have never used them...shame on me!!!) I even stamped some snowflakes over the crystal effects...I think it looks neat!

And here is a picture of the whole project! The Canvas came in a pack of 2 and with 4 hooks, so I could make another one and give them as gifts this Christmas! This set is called Snow Globe and will be available for purchase on September 23rd at the Little Paper Shop website found here!

And now for my big announcement! Julia (Owner and illustrator) for the Little Paper Shop contacted me a couple weeks ago and asked me...ME!!! if I would like to be on her design team...of course I said YES!!! and I have been having the pleasure of playing with some of her FAB stamps! I had previously ordered some of her stamps and just fell in love with the ease of use! I really liked the masculine single images and the little boy sentences and so that is what I started with...although looking at the new sets I have it's hard forme to pick a fav! She has some amazing things coming out in the next couple of days and I am so proud to be a part of that! You can also visit http://www.littlepapershop.blogspot.com/ to see what the rest of the design team is up to and to see projects for the monthly challenges!

Thanks for stopping by and sharing in my excitement!

Have a happy Stampin' Day!

Tuesday's Teacher

Hi all, I'm back and hopefully in full swing...we will see how I'm feeling tomorrow! My arm is still acting up, the pain isn't as bad as it was when I first got on the meds, but still not all the way better! I will be calling the Docs in the AM to see what he says! And now without firther adieu...here is the Bible verse for today!
"For in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said 'For we are also His offspring.' Therefore, since we are the offsprings of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and mans vision." Acts 17:28-29

Wow, these are some powerful words! I know that without God I am nothing...we had a guest preacher at church this weekend and he said that some people view the institution of religion as a crutch because they can't get through the day on their own, they are weak and not strong to go on without some thought of there being a higher power...I know I can't make iton my own, and if it's weakness I'm showing by believing in the creator of the universe then I don't want to be strong! I know in my heart that God is the reason I'm alive today, he is the reason for the things I have and there is no such thing as coincidence. I know that God meant for my husband and I to meet, otherwise He would not of orchastrated the elaborate circumstance in which we met. I know we are meant to have 3 children (which I sometimes, will admit, can not handle) but I know they are the children God has loaned me, children he has entrusted to me so that I can teach them HIS vision of how life should be, HIS ways to live life and not the ways of man!

The art of living is living through someone elses eyes, the art of living in loving someone more that yourself, the art of living is knowing that you are who you are because God has put circumstances before you to mold you into the person he needs you to be! We are shaped by God so that we can do HIS work. I love the Lord and am so thankful that long ago he thought of me! Have you given your hart to God, Jesus, The Holy Spirit so that they can work in your heart to make the world HIS? Jesus loves you and yearns to have you close to Him. He wants you to trust in Him, He wants you to share your weakness with Him so that he may strengthen you and make you a better person for His kingdom. Are you listening to WIIFM? What's in it for me? Or are you in it for the right reasons? To further His kingdom? (these are my thoughts, they are not meant to offend anyone or belittle what anyone believes, I am not a theologian...just my thought!)

-Strong adhesive...dry and wet (I used Mono Multi for the little strip)

This is the piece of designer paper (Here I'm Usinf Papaya by Stampin' Up!) And I have cut it to 7 inches long by 4 5/8 inches wide. YOu are simply going to score it at 3 and 4 inches...this will make a 1 inch channel that will fit perfectly inside the clear box!
you will now take the 1 inch strips of Chocolate Chip cardstock and scallop them using the scallop border punch by Stampin' Up!

Be sure to have the little strip that is left at the end...this will add a nice decorative strip...let's recycle today!

Once I have attached the scalloped edge and little border to my designer paper I am adding adhesive to the center of pretty paper (Between the score marks) So this way it will stay in place in the box...I also added a touch of adhesive to the from of the brown strips, also to hold it a little better!

Here is a picture of the clear box after I inserted the decorated designer paper, well slightly decorated anyways!

Here is the finished card...I used a set by Little Paper Shop. The set is called Endless Arrangements and can be purchased here. I really like this set...not only for the fab flowers and the many combinations you can do with them, but also for the awesome sentiments! I really like the simplicity of this card and the added touch that the scallop border punch adds!
This is a close up of the side of the box, I simply attached the ribbon using some eyelets and then threaded the ribbon through the hole and tied a knot...easy as pie!
And here is a photo of the box and the card sets...there are 6 cards and envelopes total...some card bases are tengerine tango and the others are kiwi miss.
Made the tag at the same time as the card...using the same colors and almost the same stamps!
I hope ou have enjoyed this project. It really is fun and simple!
The little Paper Shop Blog is having a little blog challenge Here . What can you make with clear products...play along it's fun!

Sorry about Tuesday's Teacher

yesterday! Hubby was home and we had some errands to run and then when we got back home i was NOT feeling well...light headed, dizzy, stomach cramps...so I went to bed and left hubby to take care of the kids and clean up...including bedtime. He is the sweetest and him and David took such great care of me! So unfortunately I won't have my Tuesday's teacher this week. I hope you all understand and I will be back on Schedule next week!

Have a great day and many blessings to you all...hopefully I'll be back with a card later today!

Two sweet mice...on a budget

My friend Stacy has a blog called Twinshappy (she has twin boys!) And on her blgo every Monday she has a House Mouse Monday where her cards are made with House mouse stamps! Well I only have one house mouse image and sweet Stacy knows that so to my amazement and suprize she sent me a big ol envelope full of house mouse images and since she sent them (a couple of weeks) I haven't been able to play! Well no more! Here is my house mouse card for Stacy! Thanks so much for your generosity girl...you are truly an amazing *friend*

So her challenge toda was to create a card that was less than $2, not cunting stamps, paper, or ink...LOL that should be easy enough! Here is my got at it!
Here is a close up of the little mice...I was very pleased with the coloring...hopefully the reinkers and aqua painters won't count either...otherwise my budget is shot!
So the ribbon I got from my ribbon bin...a gift from a friend (thanks Nikki!) so that was free...bringing the cost of my card to NIL! so far! Doing great huh!
The little clip was from an assortment and it had about 30 or so clips in it for 5.95 so for one I would say I paid (getting out calculator now! LOL) .20 cents The ribbon I added I think would probably cost approximately 10 cents...if that! So that makes my card a whopping 30 cents! Although I did pay for th re-inkers and the paper and the aquapainters and ..well at least I didn't pay for the stamp! Thanks to Stacy!
I love how this card turned out and am very pleased with the coloring...and again I don't have Copics, but would love a chance to try them out...for now I'll stick to my re-inkers and water color wonder crayons!
Thanks for coming by and please go on over to stacy's blog and check out the challenge!
